Possible wiring problem on shift solenoid c on my 2002 Montero Sport. Mechanic replaced tranny on the truck and said that it has a wiring issue and he doesn't think it can be fixed. Truck only has 65K on it with rebuilt tranny, what can be done?

need to know how to remove front brake rotor
Your rotors have an integrated hub with serviceable bearing.
Remove the six bolts around the center of the hub and pry off the grease cover.
behind it you will find a locking wheel with two philips screws holding it in position. Remove the screws and unscrew the locking wheel.
Behind is a large axle locknut that requires a special tool to remove. It has two small holes to grip with. Unscrew it and you will be able to remove the outer bearing, then slide the rotor off the spindle/axle.
From there you can unbolt the rotor disc from the hub backside, or replace the whole unit. Replacing the whole unit will require installing new bearings/races, however.
Either method will require repacking the bearings and loading the bearings with the special locknut tool.

I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Montero . The brake and battery light come on together. Changed the alternator twice in two days. One day I got 6 miles and one mile today before the light came on again. This is very frustrading, anyone know why this is happening? And how to correct this problem?
Verify your connections at the battery, not just for being tight but for corrosion as well, on the terminal and the cable.
Also check for oil on the bottom of the alternator. The right hand cam seal is notorious for leaking directly onto the alternator, killing them quickly.
That all being said, I haven't seen an aftermarket alternator last on a Montero for more than a month or two; so if your new ones are not OEM, you might consider getting a genuine one if your corrosion and oil leak checks are OK.

How do I replace the starter in a 2000 mitsubishi montero sport?
It is located on the passenger side of the motor, underneath side. There are two bolts on the back side of the starter, be careful the small heat shield around the starter will come loose, pull it out toward the back, there will be a gap between the axle and the sway bar. When you have unbolted the starter slide it forward to unbolt the positive cable and there is a slide connection to undo. While you are sliding the starter back you will have to rotate it to where the solenoid is facing down and work it out the same gap that the heat shield went through. Just remember how you took it out and you install the same way but backwards. Good luck and don't forget about the shield, FUN FUN.

transfer case shifter is locked up in 2H on 4x4 montero sport 2002
Mine did the same thing so I removed the center console and then the boot around transfer case shifter and the shifter it self.
This is when I discovered a broken linkage that had wedged itself between the 4L & 4H shafts in the transfer case. I removed the broken parts and reassembled and it will shift between 2H & 4H but not 4L until the broken plastic linkage is replaced. Found your post while lookin for the replacement part so I thought I would try to help. Good Luck

Looking for a diagram of the fuses for the 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport. The owners manual doesn't really tell you anything. The vehicle side view mirrors and the cigarette and accessory outlets do not work. From looking online I see more than one fuse box and the fuse boxes I have found (only 2) only have pictures on them I would like a list of what fuse is for what by number and name.
Hi
Fuse map comes in the user manual. You can get a copy at the nearest dealer. Service documentation available to technicians list fuses in their respective contest depending on the chapter, and there is no fuse map.
To fix your problem:
Check fuses 5 and 19 in the in-dash fuse box, located below the steering wheel on the driver side (passenger side in some model- check both sides). Below a pic:
Near to the fuse box there is an auxiliary relay box. Check also for fuse 19 in the aux relay box. Here a picture:
If that does not fix the problem, check the mirror fuse and wiring . See Body and Chassis Electrical (from workshop manual).
Regards.
Ginko.

radio clock and temperature and other accessories are not working im thinking it might be the fuses
Well those circuits are on different fuses, and it would be unusual if you had more than one blown fuse. It does sound like a power problem since the temp gauge is grounded thru the sending unit.
If nothing on the dash works, I would check the key switch first.

if your oil is low would that cause jerking and causing the sport to die
Hi, if your oil is low you may be causing the engine to overheat and that may lead to the engine seizing. Better top up the oil and see if the problem goes away.
