4.0 'shortstars' do not have a bleeder screw, they are filled at the surge tank which is higher than the coolant anywhere in the engine compartment-fill it to the full level when COLD, and check for pressure in the system when the engine is hot (squeeze the top hose, it should be solid, not easy to callopse). Your surge tank also holds pressure so your cap has to seal tightly with no leak through the overflow tube.

The most likely cause, besides the speedometer being bad is the vehicle speed sensor in the transmission. It is mounted on the outside of the transmission and is fairly easy to replace.

Speed ometer ,heater controlls andcar computer

There's a fuse under the rear seat labeled Inst #1 or Inst #2 which may be blown. Try that first and hopefully that will fix the problem. If the fuse keeps blowing, then you've got a real problem because that circuit runs all over the car [at least a dozen different locations] any one of which may be in trouble. Good luck!!

Why do I smell Antifreeze

Head gaskets are quite common to fail on Auroras. If it leaks internally, coolant burns and causes a smell to exit through the exhaust.

Waterpump leak

Hello bladresha: My name is Roger and I will help you. The water pump on the 4.0 engine is located at the rear of the motor inside of the water cross over tube. It does require special tools in order to remove and install. This pump does not bolt in or on to the motor. This is a twist and lock in pump. Just like the Cadillac Northstar motor. You will need to remove the upper hose housing from the crossover tube. Look inside of the housing and you will see the water pump. You will need to use the special tool in order to unlock the water pump. Pay close attention to the water pump when removed. There will be a notch in one of the ears. This is a location notch. The new pump must go in the same notch. I have attached a picture that shows the water pump location. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. Thank You for using Fix Ya.
