Adding transmission fluid to 1992 BMW 525i.
On the driver side of the transmission pan there is a fill plug. The car must be in the air and level. With the car running fluid will run out of the plug hole when it is full. This is no fun without a lift.
BMW e28 manual transmission hard to engage..
as the temperature gets colder this tends to happen that is why thinner fluid is always better to prevent this from happening try changing your fluid to a thinner fluid. guaranteed better shifting.
WHERE IS THE FUEL FILTER
It is located under the vehicle, passenger side, below trunk area, rear of wheel-well, near fram rail, mounted to floor pan in fuel line.

I am assuming your vehicle is an automatic
if so...can you get the vehicle to shift manually?
when was the last time the trans was flushed?
if you do not know, do this first before seeking assistance from a trans shop
What type of transmission fluid does a 2004 BMW
it depends on the tag on the transmission if its black it takes atf d3.if it has a green plate its lifetime oil and shouldnt need changing if you have drained the oil or need a top up you will have to get it from the dealer.hope this helps

If you don't know why BMW doesn't have a transmission fluid dipstick you should seriously consider finding a trustworhty BMW mechanic in your area.
I have a 2004 BMW 325I that keeps stalling and
oh dear, this sounds like bad news,,, it could be the torque converter starting to sezies up on you but at the bmw has whats called a "stepper motor" to ajust its throtol settings there is little you can do to up the tickover speed a bit,,, it should be ticking over at 750--850rpm in gear when hot,, if its not then its ticking over far to slowly and it will keep stalling on you when you try to pull away or are sat at the lights wateing? putting it on a computer is the only way to ajust the tickover
