I have a 1998 Chevy Blazer with 4 wheel drive hi and lo. I can hear the thing move (it makes a sound like a click when I first press it into 4 wheel drive and when I press it back into 2 wheel drive it sounds like something is moving and then a click) when I press the 4 hi & lo buttons on the dash, but it will not engage the 4 wheel drive. I have put it into "N" then pressed the 4 hi button and nothing. I even seen that someone said to put it into "N" press the button and then put it into "P" and then drive, still nothing.
Please help before I go crazy with this thing.
Thanks
Gary
Reset the computer by disconnecting the battery. This should solve this. nutetral is for the four lo only to engage.

I have a 1997 Chevy Blazer. My blinkers just stopped working the other day. When I turn on my blinkers nothing shows up on the dash and the blinkers themselves do not work. But when I press my hazards, it shows up on the dash and the lights on the outside work. My fuses aren't burnt out in the fuse box either. What do I do??? I need to get it inspected soon. I am afraid that if I take it in to get looked at that I am going to get screwed over!!!
Try replacing the Flasher first before spending to much money for a possible simple fix. If it's not your flasher then it could be the turn signal leaver.
Ok, this may seem stupid, but that's what they did to the blazer. They set the flasher near the middle and under the center console behind the radio.
It's to the left of the radio right behind the dash. The hazard flasher and the turn signal flasher are side by side. It right next to the Cig lighter behind the panel. They do mark the turn signal from the hazard flasher on the plastic behind them. Turn is on the right.
Good luck and hope this helps.

The A/C relay is in the glove box behind a panel that indicate relay. There are three relays in there, the middle relay is the fuel pump and one of the out side relay is for the A/C compressor and the other is for the third brake light. Just can not remember which out side relay is the A/C so just swap the out side relays with one another. Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted.

I am working on a 1997 blazer four door. The dome light stays on all the time. i have replaced both front door plunger switches, the dome light on/off wheel and the interior lights and accessory module under the dash and all fuses are good. the dome lights still won't turn off unless i unplug the fuse. I have been told that it could be a shorted wire somewhere but have checked all the obvious places. I am quite good at fixing cars, but wiring is my weak spot. I don't know what else to do. any help would be greatly appreciated
Been having a problem with the dome lights on a 99 chevy blazer. Still can't figure out what the problem is. There is a dome light overide button located under the dimmer wheel. When I push the overide button in the dome light goes off, but when I open any of the doors the dome light will not come on. When the overide button is out the dome light stays on all the time and will not turn off even though every door is closed. I checked all the pushbuttons and everything tests good. Has anyone had this problem and know how to fix it?

97 Chevy Blazer starter relay where is it located and how do I change it
The starter relay is in the engine compartment close to the battery. Its a black or gray box 4" x 4" and may say relays or nothing at all. Lift the cover and get owners manual for exact location inside the box.

how to set timing on a 1997 s10 blazer 4.3 vortec. why dose the harmonic balencer have 2 timing marks on it & what one do you set the timing from? thanks
The reason there are two timing marks on the balancer is because you can line up the top mark with the mark on the timing cover and the bottom mark with the mark on the block. This is top dead center for number 1 cylinder you dont need to crank the motor over with your finger over the no 1 plug hole or watch the valve springs on number one cylinder anymore now they have made it simple just line up the marks and you are at tdc no1 cylinder if you want diagrams email me. Good luck!

Where is the heater blower relay located on a 1997 Chev. S-10 Blazer
It's located on the blower motor. If you can see the blower motor it's right there. That controls your fan speed. Hope this helps.
