All the different control modules , serial data communication network . You probably don't even know what's happening just turning the key to start the start position . For ignition switch power modes refer to Body Control System Description and Operation. Once the ignition is placed in the Run/Crank position, the control circuit of the Run/Crank relay is grounded by the body control module (BCM). With the Run/Crank relay switch closed, battery positive voltage flows through it and on to the park/neutral position (PNP) switch. With the PNP switch in either the Park or Neutral position, battery positive voltage will flow to the starter relay coil supply voltage input terminal of the powertrain control module and the coil side of the starter relay. Placing the ignition in the START position sends a message to the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) requesting engine start. If the ECM/PCM has determined that the transmission is in Park or Neutral and theft is not active, it will ground the control circuit of the starter relay. Battery positive voltage will then flow through the switch side of the starter relay to the S terminal of the starter solenoid, cranking the engine. For remote vehicle start (RVS) information, refer to Keyless Entry System Description and Operation. Power Mode Master This vehicles body control module (BCM) functions as the power mode master (PMM). Refer to Power Mode Description and Operation for a complete description of power mode functions. Power to many of this vehicle's circuits are controlled by the module that is designated the power mode master (PMM). This vehicle's PMM is the body control module (BCM). The PMM controls which power mode (Run, Accessory, Crank, Retained Accessory Power, or Off) is active. Serial Data Power Mode Master On vehicles that have several control modules connected by serial data circuits, one module is the power mode master (PMM). On this vehicle, the PMM is the body control module (BCM). The PMM receives 3 discrete ignition switch signals to differentiate which power mode will be sent over the Serial Data circuits. The 3-wire Ignition Switch table below illustrates the state of these inputs in correspondence to the ignition switch position: Relay Controlled Power Mode The body control module (BCM) uses the discrete ignition switch inputs Off/Run/Crank, Accessory, and ignition 1, to distinguish the correct power mode. The ignition 1 circuit is also routed to the Run/Crank relay for relay controlled power feeds during the appropriate power mode. The BCM, after determining the desired power mode, will activate the appropriate relays for that power mode. The first step in the diagnostic procedure chart would be to hook up the Tech2 - factory scan tool an check all the modules on the vehicle for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . Sounds like a computer problem or improper part installation. Did you replace any parts or add aftermarket components to your car. Some parts can fit and look identical to the original, but my contain or be missing diodes monitoring circuits and the like that can effect computer control. newer alternators are notorious for this.

At the starter motor, two voltage circuits, one comes from the battery, hot all the time. The other should go hot with key in the crank position and is wired through the starter relay. Is the starter relay removable? If so jump the load side of relay with jumper wire, the starter motor may crank? If you try that, make sure tranny is in park or neutral and parking brake is set. There is a run/crank relay that is also involved, plus the neutral switch. If you have two good voltage circuits at the starter motor and the ground is good, the starter motor grounds through the engine block, then I'd have to check starter motor itself. When a lock control, entry-remote entry, extended range (AP8) equipped vehicle has RVS added to it and the vehicle is not DIC equipped and the customer wants to disable RVS. The dealer will perform the DISABLED remote start function since the owner cannot perform the function on thier own without a DIC. Important: All transmitters that are to be recognized by the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) must be programmed in a single programming sequence. If the system is placed in program mode, all previously programmed transmitters will be erased upon receipt of the programming signal from the first transmitter. Up to 4 transmitters can be programmed. Do not operate or program the transmitters in the vicinity of other vehicles that are in the keyless entry program mode. This prevents the programming of the transmitters to the incorrect vehicle. The order in which the transmitters are programmed is important. The first transmitter programmed will be transmitter #1, and the second transmitter programmed will be transmitter #2. Use care to program the transmitters correctly. The scan tool must stay connected until all of the transmitters are programmed. All doors must be closed to perform this function. Install CANDI module. Install a scan tool. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF. With the scan tool, select Vehicle Control Systems. Select Computer/Integrating Systems. Select the proper engine size. Select Module Setup. Select Body Control Module (BCM). Select Program Key Fobs. Follow scan tool on screen instructions. Remove the scan tool. Exit the vehicle. Attempt to lock/unlock the doors to verify the programming. Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation.

Has to be a bad turn signal , hi low beam switch ( multifuction switch) . The BCM - body control module turns the headlamps on with input from the switch .

You never remove the + battery cable , unless you remove the negative first . it is actually neg that u want to remove when u work on your car, when you remove the neg cable the whole car cannot make a connection or short, there are parts of the car that hold juice, once you remove the negative cable there is no path for current to travel. look at it this way, most all metal in the car is the ground and pull the ground cable at the battery and there is no circuit. there are older cars that were positive chassis, complete opposite, but thru electrolysiss the metal quickly deteriorated. trust me remove the negative cable, not the positive. the best thing people could do is make a quick disconnect for the neg. terminal for service. Your best bet , take your vehicle to a qualified ASE certified repair shop . Would not want you to hurt youself , batteries can explode with sparking when hooking up a battery .
