The alarm keeps going off for no reason i had to unhook the battery, what can i do?
Check for a battery drain ie:trunk light or glovebox light staying on
make sure all the door catches are closing properly spray the locks with wd40, Including the hood and trunk catches, check the radio is off properly, You made need to get a electrical drain check done by an electrical expert ?
Hope this helps

C240 UNDERVOLTAGE CONSUMER DEFECTIVE
Sounds to me like a voltage regulator issue. This is attached to the alternator and monitors how much voltage is sent back to the battery. Any decent parts store should be able to hook up a charging system tool-most common is a Vat-40 and check the system. And they will probably do it for free. If there is an issue with the charging system, then try the voltage regulator first, as opposed to the alternator-there is quite a price difference I assure you. Let me know what you find.

What does the sender unit on a 2001Mercedes-Benz c320 do?
sender units ( you didn't bother to mention any specific one) send data to the ECM so that the engine/ transmission TCM can make the suitable adjustment to keep the engine /transmission in tune
they will put lights on (ABS-TRACT control )when these sections fail

I have a Merc c220 cdi 2001.The kickdown works only sometimes and then only once per journey. It will not travel above 85 mph (not that this is a problem).Manually shifting the auto into lower gears wo
Hi Ray
This is an unusual problem the gearbox change is controlled electronically so normally the first thing to do is get the vehicle plugged into a diagnostic machine ( this would also normally require a proper mercedes start diagnostic and not a cheap one at the local garage) But assuming it is electronic you have 2 choices the gearbox control module located in the car just below the gear change lever and the main electronic control located in the oil pan of the gearbox not so easy to access, Just a thought have you ever spilt a beverage such as coffee or soda over the gear lever area ?
as I have seen this problem before with a lack of gear selection it had shorted the module, So I guess for the cheapest first stop I would locate a second hand module from the breakers yard and try this first it should be a easy DIY anything more will require some proper mechanical skills hope this is of some help, Just a last minute thought have you checked underneath for a transmission oil leak as the oil may just be low this model suffers with the "O" ring around the electronic plug failing and causing a leak its located on the right hand side of the box just above the oil pan at the front edge.

ML320 automatic is movig but not changing gears?
Sounds like you either have a Electrical Failure that is causing the Computer to not allow it to see the gears.. with a Mercedes, you are going to be hunting this down for a while unless you bring it to the Mercedes Shop. But their system is computerizes and will save you time and money in the long run... SORRY
