when my car did the same thing, I found out it was my fuel pump, which is used to being in liquid and therefore had dried up and then seized up. you can test it by disconnecting the fuel line from the tank to the engine and pouring a small amount of gas into the line...if it starts up or even turns over, then you know that it is the pump...good luck

Dear Stacy. I am hoping you have not damaged your engine, but from your short discourse, it seems not. The most likely problem would be a broken radiator hose. Put your car up in the air and look underneath, you should find the hole in a hose. The leaking hose could either be a radiator hose, or a heater hose. .If they have never been changed, now is a good time to do so, especially if the ones on your car are original. If the hose is not readily apparent, you could add water and start the motor, but be prepared to shut it off immediately when the source of the leak is found. God bless your efforts.

I did see where there is a fuse under the hood for the dash lights. Other than that the dash light rheostat could be bad. In my old model cars the light switch on the dash, you would turn it clockwise to increase illumination of dash lights. The cars I have had since has button which you can push in to lock/unlock and turn clockwise to illuminate the lights. This is my best guess at this time. If someone has done any work under the dash need to make sure nothing is loose or not plugged in.

Pull the instrument cluster out and make sure the electrical connectors are all fully seated in the sockets (remove them and plug them back in) they plug to first, then see if the problem clears up.

Some one didn't do a very good alignment. If it was done recently, you may won't to take it back. Unless you been hitting some major pot holes. Vibration that comes and goes like that is usually tire balance. Might want to have the suspension checked. But they should have done that before the alignment. You can't align a vehicle if it has bad tie rods, ball joints or struts.

There is more load placed on the motor when AC is turned on. Does the vehicle have a tach and if so, what RPM is the vehicle running at with the AC on as opposed to not on? If idling too low it will be rough. Another thing to inspect would be weak/worn motor mounts.

Some vehicles have a regulator normally mounted on the firewall that tide into the starting circuit. The only other thing if something is staying on while you have the vehicle off. I would check and see about the regular. If your vehicle is reading 14 volts while running your alternator is good. Also check voltage at the battery cable not the post. Sometimes corrosion builds up in the cable under the insulation and this will cause the battery not to charge and eventually kill the alternator. Remember you can read voltage at the battery post but still not be getting voltage through the cable if corrosion is built up in the insulation. I hope this helps.
