2002 Mitsubishi Montero - Page 2 Questions & Answers
I have replaced my brake pads. Had the discs machined and there are no oil leaks yet my pedal almost touches the floor if I dont pump it. what are the likely problems.
the most likely problem here is a faulty master cylinder . There is no residual pressure in the disc brakes lines but if you have rear drum brakes there is residual pressure here counteracted by the return springs holding the shoes in the cylinders.. Which ever you have with the pedal going to the floor but being able to be pumped up is an indication of air still in the lines or leaking piston rubbers in the master cylinder
Accumulator in a brake system (money from suckers) and $3500 to have it fixed (money from suckers). Find yourself an accredited brake and clutch shop and get a second opinion and check the results with a second quote Then you may be on the right track . I would recommend that you have another go at bleeding the system starting at the longest line first and ending at the shortest using the help of a friend . I would not be surprised that after getting some air out that the brakes suddenly work properly.
2002 montero high teamperature no leak or any thing
Could be several issues:
1. The radiator is blocked internally or externally with road and insect debris.
2. The radiator fan may not be working. There's a control sensor on the bottom of the radiator that controls a relay that drives the fan. Fan motors can seize. Can you easily rotate the fan?
3. MIGHT be a head gasket on the way out. Have your garage do a compression and leak down test.
Can't open tailgait on 2002 Mitsubishi Montero.
I have the same problem with a 2001 Mitusbishi Montero XLS. Door handle is stuck and feels mushy when trying to open it. Is there a safety from the inside panel to open the cargo door? At this point, until its repaired, all I want to do is to be able to release the lock and open the door.
Where is the ac port located to add freon
On a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero LTD, the a/c charging port is between the battery and the windshield. It is the port that has a cap labeled with an "
L"
(Low Side).
When the a/c is on,
"L" (Low Side) gets
cold while the "H" (High Side) gets hot.
Make sure you use the
Low Side (cold) for adding Freon.
(note: over the counter freon kits should not fit the High Side port anyways)
