Hello and welcome to FixYa! If you have overheating problem, it can lead to multipleissues. You may be running on low coolant that's why the vehicle overheats. Ifthat's the case, please add coolant and make sure that it sits on the rightlevel, too much coolant can cause overheating too for coolant will overflow. The vehicle may have a faulty or worn out radiator blowermotor that's why it overheats. If that's the case then you will need a blowermotor replacement to resolve the issue. If the radiator is clogged with dirt and rusts this issueoccurs too. The coolant doesn't flow normally on the cooling system if it'sclogged. If that's the case, I strongly suggest that you have the radiatorflushed to drain out dirt and rusts. If you think that the radiator served youenough then it's better to have it replaced. Please do check the radiator hoses, If you have worn outhoses it can cause coolant leakage which can result to overheating. A tiny holeis good enough for the vehicle to overheat. A faulty thermostat sensor can cause the issue too. If youhave worn out thermostat, the fan may not trigger that's why the fan won't workwhen under stressed conditions. A blown radiator blower fuse can cause thisissue too so I suggest that you check the radiator blower fuse and replace itwhen necessary. What causes the radiator blower fan fuse to blow? It's becauseof a failing radiator blower motor, If that's the case have the radiator blowerfan motor replaced. If the fluid in radiator doesn't circulate then it meansthat you have a blown head gasket or a faulty water pump. I suggest that you gofor the water pump replacement first specially if you think that it's near theend of it's service life. Usually, water pops out the radiator when engine isreved (a sign of faulty water pump and possible blown head gasket). Hope you find this information helpful enough and thank youfor using FixYa! Have a good one!

If that is the way the charging system is set up

Put a volt meter on across the battery with it

You should get more than 12volts,about 12.6v
not running

About 13.8 to 14.2 volts running, even with all the
lights on ,door open, blower on, etc

If not, the alterntor is not charging & the light comes on,

  • I assume you have checked your brake fluid. If not then check it.

  • Did you pull every tire to make sure there were no leaks from the caliper? Sometimes they will leak and you won't notice it as most people stop driving when the brakes gets real squish so the way to tell for sure is to pull every wheel and look well.

  • There was a recall on the Hydraulic Brake Booster Accumulator for the 2002 Montero. Reports of the brakes going "squishy" with the first press or two, a delayed action if you will. Sometimes the brakes just fail period. What happened is the manufacturer screwed this part up, period. Over time a leak will develop and leak the pressurized nitrogen gas from inside the accumulator. Mitsubishi should replace this if it has never been addressed. The fix is for them to install a new improved actuator.

  • And if the dealer should go giving you a hard time "Owners who take their vehicle to an authorized dealer and do not relieve the free remedy within a reasonable time should [PER MITSUBISHI] "contact Mitsubishi @ 1-787-251-8715 and also contact The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Auto Safety Hotline @ 1-888-DASH-DOT (1-888-327-4236)"

  • hope this helps you. This one is on Mitsubishi. They had tons of brake problems/complaints/recalls.
  • If you have any questions or comments please feel free to ask.
  • Thank you for using FixYa.

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

First, the fuel filter looks like that it needs replacement. Second, do check the hose of the fuel filter too for it can be worn out that's why it's dripping diesel. Regarding the white smoke, Try disconnecting the positive battery connector, let it sit for 5mins. then reconnect it again. This will reset the system and can get it back to it's normal operation.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

if the smoke was white then you have a problem with oil chambers... it could make your vehicule smoke all the time and can damage running parts in the inside of engine...

I guess if you googled the car's make. model, and year with "speaker size" you could get some links.
also if you search for car speakers on the eBay.com or crutchfield.com websites both will ask you what kind of car you have and then tell you what size speakers go in the holes provided by the manufacturer. both of these methods will require however that you do something yourself, instead of asking someone else to do it for you. if you can't do that, there are many shops in every large urban area where guys put stereos in, and they know all that stuff.

Many manufacturers place the belt diagram under the hood. I've seen it on the strut housing and on the underside of the hood. The owner's manual may also have the diagram.

More than likely your alternator is bad and not keeping the battery charged up, plus you may have an electrical draw somewhere in the vehicle draining the battery also. I would check out the alternator first. Good luck.

This can be many things. You need to have the ECU scanned with an OBD2 scan tool. You can get this done for free at most auto parts stores. The code will tell you what part is being effected and where to start looking for the problem.

have you checked the distributer cap and the lead to number 5? as far as your suspension goes it seems just from a quick look at the diagram it looks like you will need a set of coil spring compressors to remove the insert of the front strut but you may be able to buy a complete unit.

I believe that the panel you speak of leads to the top of the fuel tank, which will have another panel held on to the tank with a bunch of screws. Remove and pull out the pump assembly. Before replacing the pump, check for power to the pump with a test light while someone is cranking the engine. Fuel pump relay problems are not uncommon on these so you may want to replace that as well or first because the pumps are quite expensive. When you are checking for power at the pump, make sure the opening to the tank is covered well with rags. You don't want any sparks near gas vapor

Recommended spark plug replacement is at 60,000 miles. It is also recommended that the plug wires be replace at the same time. The only tools you will need will be a rachet, an extension, and the proper size spark plug socket. When replacing the spark plugs, remove one at a time, never remove all wires at the same time. When putting new plugs in, be sure to keep them straight when tightening. Tighten just until snug.
