Service Engine light came on on 2004 Eclipse

It's not a maintence interval reminder.

There are many emission sensors in the car that will make the engine light come ON. Best way to find out what's going on is to have an auto-parts store hook up a engine code reader and tell you what the code means. Most auto-part store will do this for free.

Check Engine Light 2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Hi

This error relates as follows:

P0157 error : O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 2)

This indicates a fault in the Oxygen sensor input voltage which is indicating that it is below normal operating range.
Causes are either a bad sensor, loose connection or contamination on the sensor. The liklihood is that the sensor is bad and requires replacing. With this particular sensor a fault here is unlikely to effect the cars performance but will cause it fail the inspection in most states.

The sensor is not too expensive so best advice is to just replace it.
Its $66 from this site http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sku/Mitsubishi/Eclipse/Bosch/Oxygen_Sensor/20042005/BS15733.html?tlc=Engine+%26+Drivetrain

Hope this helps. Please do rate my answer. Many Thanks.

2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse HARD TO SHIFT ???

If its a manual transmission, check the clutch fluid. The reservoir is located at the top of the firewall on the drivers side, in the engine compartment. open it up, and check the fluid level. if its low, then theres your problem. Top it off wit DOT3 brake fluid...if its completely dry, fill it replace the cap and pump your clutch to bleed the fluid. repeat until it wont hold anymore fluid. I had the same problem a few months ago and this fixed it in a matter of minutes.

Oil light comes on 2001 Eclipse

I think you ought to change your oil, and when you do that, buy a can of Seafoam that can be found at your local auto store and dump it down the hole where the oil goes so it can get all in the crank case. If you see white smoke for a little bit dont freak out, its just carbon build up thats burning off. Also have your timing checked.
