Oil sensor on dash keeps

  • You have an oil pressure sending unit on your oil pan, just above the oil filter that could be going bad. Of course the oil pump could be going bad also but you can check the sending unit at home.
  1. First check your oil level to make sure enough oil is circulating.
  2. Now look at the oil sending unit and inspect to make sure the wires and connector look good.
  3. Note that in the next step when you remove the connector, turn the car to on NOT START JUST ON and have a quick look at the gauge inside the cabin. It should be all the way up. If not you could have a connector problem.
  4. To remove the oil sending unit by removing the connector and putting the proper deep socket on and twisting it out.
  5. Now put an oil pressure gauge in where the sending unit was and start the car. Make sure there are NO leaks and now watch the gauge.
  6. Now start the car and wait two minutes (roughly). If the pressure goes up to 50lbs (roughly) and stays then the sending unit itself is bad and needs replaced. Only let the car run lon enough to get a good reading then turn it off.
  7. If the pressure is low and won't come up after a couple minutes of running then your oil pump could be failing.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony

How to replace a motor blower

Help from The "Black Pearl" at Bonnevilleforum.com:
http://www.bonnevilleforum.com/showthread.php?t=285878&highlight=blower

Start by removing the two 9/32 screws holding the beauty panel up.

There is one oh the right next to the door and there is one on the left next to the center console

There is a plastic push pin in the middle of the panel, gently pull out on panel to disengage.

Once the panel is down, unplug the blue courtesy light connector. On the left you can see a black connector, this is a temp sensor for the Auto setting, you will need to unplug this as well.

With the panel out of the way, you have full access to the blower motor.

You will need to unplug the connector on the right, and the drain hose on the left. You can see three gold 7/32 screws holding the blower in. Remove these and you will have to shimmy and wiggle the motor and wheel assembly around the wires to get it out. Good Luck, Zeevert

Hi, my 01 Bonneville SSEI keeps saying check gas

Hello: You need to find out if there are any codes in the engine control module. Go to a parts store ie: Auto Zone, Advance Auto and have the codes read, they normally don' charge. If the code is for the Evap system have them clear the code and see if it comes back.

SES light came on, looked at the code on the 2001

you start by cleaning the hot wire(located in the center of the sensor that the air passes) in the maf sensor as when these get a little dirt on them it can throw the reading out for the computer.spray the wire with carb/throttle cleaner and blow dry or let it sit to dry.then you can check the 02 sensor with a volt meter to see if it is working within the designed parameters when in closed loop.this code generally indicates a problem with the oxygen sensor(02).the readings should fluctuate above and below .456 volts and not stay on one side or the other as long as the car is not running rich or lean.
