Power windows and radio will not work
They have a relay too though don't they? Things would be slightly different on the Australian versions im sure but they have a relay in the engine bay and then seperately for windows and radio in the cabin?
Svs, abs. no trac, and perf shift lights
Trac control and ABS lights come on usually when one of your ABS wheel sensors is either bad and needs replacing or corroded and just may need cleaning. This happened to me. It was my front left abs sensor. they replaced it and al the lights went out and all good now. I also bought an OBDII that plugs into your car and the computer tells the OBDII whats wrong and what sensor it is. You also get the option to erase the codes and put out some or all the lights on your dash. Some times a glitch will light a light on the dash and resetting or erasing it with the OBDII corrects the problem. Hope this helps. God Bless :O)
Remove 1998 regal ignition switch
glen, one thing to remember, the switch has to be in the accessory position to remove after taking off steering wheel and unbolting mounting bolts for switch. same thing when putting in new one.
Crack headgasket pontiac montana 2002
have a compression test done to confirm that it is a gasket and not a cracked head . If so remove the head/s and replace the gaskets . A good job will require the cleaning of the stud holes with a thread tap and the studs cleaned with a thread chaser/ die nut. Ensure that the head and block faces are clean dry and flat (Warped head may be the original cause of gasket failure) to ensure that the head gasket film is allowed to adhere to the surfaces and assist with the sealing process. Use locktite never seize to obtain maximum tension on the bolts as it stops the threads binding under tension.
Bent axel
The wishbone can not be repaired and should be replaced. The wheel alignment must then be reset.
My car will not turn over, the lights will come on
I'm not sure what you mean the "clicking won't" but I do know that sometimes on my 98 the safety neutral won't engage.I know, What?Try pushing forward on your shifter when it's in park then try the key again. If that doesn't work, look at your shifter and down on the trim that shows what gear your in, on the right side of the shifter you'll see a black, probably, plastic plug. Take your finger nail of a small screw driver and gentle pry it out. Now you'll have a hole and you will need something that will fit down in that hole like a screw driver, not really long one, and down in there is a button.Find it and push down on it while pressing on the button of your shifter like taking it out of park. While you are pushing down on the button in the hole and taking it out of park, once you succeed in getting it out of park, give the shifter another good shove into park and try and start it again. This is called a saftey neutral lock out switch. I can usually just push on my shifter and turn the key again and it'll start. The first time it happened to me though, I was really messed up, I thought battery, starter, you name it, then it dawned on me, oh wow, that was a messed up deal for about a half hour because I was 300 miles from home and had just bought the car and didn't have a clue, I really hope this is your problem and helps. Good luck
Water leak internal on buick regal gs 1998
I had this same problem. It is caused by water running downe the windshield and into the cabin air filter located under the cowling on the pasenger side. It is really easy to fix.
I've been told all "W" body GM cars have this same filter set up, so all 1997 through 2004 Buick Regals (mine is a 2001) and many other GMs have this problem. MY 2001 Regal would get 1-2 inches of water on the passenger side floorboard after a rain.
There are three things that can be done to prevent this and all three are quite easily accomplished. There is a water diverter weatherstrip above the filter that can become dislodged. Mine was out of place even though the filter had never been changed. I used RTV to glue this weather strip back in place. I also made a cover out of an old plastic 1 gallon antifreeze jug by cutting the ends off and then splitting it down the middle and doubling it to cover the filter but still remain above it so that air is not blocked. This is so that even if the diverter becomes dislodged again this still won't let water get to the filter. Once you pull the coweling, which is very easy to do with one plastic screw like fastener and two plastic "rivets" that you just pull out with needle nose plyers, you'll see what needs to be done. You'll need to use the ignition key to stop the wpers in mid-stroke on the windshield and open the hood to get clearence to the cowling. Speaking of the coweling, lastely I put a bead of RTV between the coweling and the windshield before puting it back on.
So for one tube of RTV, one old plastic jug, one hour of time using a pair of pliars and a knife I have fixed what had been a real PIA water leak. EASY!
