Intake manifold gasket / replace

3.8L Engine

NOTE The 3.8L (VIN K) non-supercharged engine uses a two-piece intake manifold consisting of an upper air plenum which mounts the throttle body and a lower intake manifold assembly which houses the fuel injectors. The 3.8L (VIN 1) supercharged engine uses a similar lower intake manifold. The supercharger serves as the upper manifold.
Lower Manifold

NOTE Two bolts which fasten the lower intake manifold to the cylinder head are accessible only after the upper intake manifold is removed. These bolts are located in the right front and left rear corners of the lower intake manifold. Remove the upper intake manifold to service the lower intake.
The 3.8L (VIN 1) supercharged engine uses a manifold similar to the 3.8L (VIN K), but the supercharger serves as the upper manifold.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. On 3.8L (VIN 1) engines, remove the supercharger assembly. Please see the procedure in this section.
  3. Remove the upper intake manifold using the procedure above.
  4. Remove the EGR outlet pipe from the intake manifold.
  5. Detach the engine coolant temperature sensor wiring harness from the sensor.
  6. Remove the lower intake manifold bolts and carefully lift off the manifold.

  1. Clean all parts well with degreaser, especially the gasket seal surfaces on the upper and lower manifold pieces and between the lower manifold and the cylinder heads..
  2. Install new gaskets to the cylinder heads and new seals to the engine block. Carefully lower the manifold into place. Apply thread-locking compound to the bolt threads. Make sure to install the two hidden bolts in the lower intake manifold. Hand start all bolts, then torque evenly to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm). Follow the toque sequence, starting in the center, then working outwards in a circle.
  3. Install the remaining components in the reverse order of the removal process.

Upper Intake Manifold (Plenum)
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. On 3.8L (VIN 1) engines, remove the supercharger assembly. Please see the procedure in this section.
  3. Tag for identification, then remove the right side spark plug wires.
  4. Disconnect the ignition wires from the fuel rail.
  5. Remove the fuel rail. Please see Section 5.
  6. Remove the cable bracket from the intake manifold.
  7. Remove the throttle body.

NOTE Two bolts which fasten the lower intake manifold to the cylinder head are accessible are accessible only after the upper intake manifold is removed. These bolts are located in the right front and left rear corners of the lower intake manifold.
  1. Remove the upper intake manifold bolts and carefully lift the upper intake manifold from the engine.

While driving the abs light comes on then goes out

The only way that the ABS light could have anything to do with your stalling problem is if it is caused by a bad battery ground, Otherwise, I would begin diagnosis by collecting fault codes from both the ABS module and the Engine Control Module.

Unable to repair damage on my 1999buick regal ls .ave found a complete door to replace damaged olne how do i remove old one this is my right rear door

Replacement depends on how the hinges are mounted to the frame. If they are bolted, just remove the bolts. If they are welded, the need to be removed with a special tool and a special replacement package used to reattach the new ones. This is not usually a DIY job - you will probably need a body shop to do it.

I had my mass air

It has nothing to do with the transmission and how it shift. The MAS with multiple others, sends info to the ECM, which adjusts fuel, air, and spark advance accordingly depending on too rich, too lean, etc. ALso the mas usually has a arrow on it and cant really be installed wrong. What do you mean by "pulls some" ?

My front dirvers side turn signal bulbs keep

That's usually a sign of overheating due to a poor connection. Buy a replacement socket and splice it in place using heat shrinkable tubing to keep water out. Apply a light film of dielectric grease int he socket. Then clean the ground connections. That should solve the problem

How do I manually close the sunroof on a 1999 buick regal?

You have to pull the entire ceiling down. I would buy a new crank motor or get one at a junkyard. *Also makes good practice as what your in for. (Most junkyards make/let you get the parts you need yourself) Manually wouldn't work well and WILL leak cause it will move back. Mine had a bad switch. I fixed that and it works fine. Thank GOD!

1999 buick regal won't start

This may be related to the antitheft system The system is known for turning off the starter and/or injectors when it fails. Is there a light on the dash that says SECURITY or a picture of a car with a lock through it? This is a common problem worth looking into. http://www.diy-gm-security.com/ 26205359-pfr3olq4vbrbhfmp0xdrulln-4-2.jpg

Starter will not engage at times can try starter rapidly and it will start when you watch engine belts while trying to start engine slightly turns this happens about every 4 to 5 times that i drive it

Does the engine make a knocking noise when it first starts or when driving? Like when letting off the gas. If so, this would indicate a bad engine(bearings). Otherwise, replace the starter.
