Changing front directioal signal bulb on 2000
Turn your ignition on and your headlights. Turn the key off and then the headlights. They should stay open. Open the hood. Remove the rubber 'bump stop' located next to the headlamp on the side that has the bad bulb. Be careful to not change the location of the lock nut.
Now you have a big opening that will allow you to reach down to the rear of the directional signal and remove the socket and bulb by turning counter clockwise. Replace the bulb. I like to put some dielectric compound or at least some vaseline on the base wires of the new bulb.
Test. Reverse procedure for reassembly. Congratulations....... you just saved $70.00!!! Dave
2001 Corvette radio unlock code
You can go to the dealer for this code or you can go here
www.radiocode.com for a lot less money. The radio security code unfortunately is not free. It was given to the original owner along with the new car factory documents like the owners manual and such, it was on a little card.
I have a 2001 corvette that won't start after replacing battery
What do the lights do when you try to start it? A battery can be strong enough to power lights, etc, but still not have enough power to handle a big draw like the starter motor.
You could also check cables going from battery to starter relay and relay to starter.
My 2001 corvette has a abs light on dash board
The Light is on because the ABS system for your Anti-Lock Brakes has failed....the Brakes will still work...but the ABS wont...basically if you slam on the brakes... you will lock up your tires as if it were an older model car before ABS came out. The most probable cause is a wheel sensor that "Counts" the notches on the wheel axle near the knuckle has failed. Could just be dirty...mis-adjusted or broken.i would need more details to determine the exact cause. Hope this helps.

If cleaning the contacts and grounds doesn't resolve your problem, the next best thing is to have your EBCM re-built. Here's a cut and paste of vendors that have been used successfully in the past;1.
well just wanted to let everyone with this problem know found a place to get this thing repaired and after talkin with Brandon got him to repair and upgrade it for 150.00 plus 8.00 for return next day air . this is a great price if ya look at cost to replace and customer service was also great. he will gurantee the ecbm for as long as you own the car.So if ya have this problem give him a call , site is absfixer.com or call 877-648-7530 2.
The name of the company is Auto&Truck Electronics. I am in no way affiliated with them, nor do I recieve any discount or monetary consideration for making this post. I'm making this post in an effort to save you guys some $$$ and hopefully help to prevent future failures given the problematic part could fail again if replaced with another flawed design part(assuming they haven't corrected whatever tends to break). I was a bit leary of this whole deal since I didn't have any references to say it was a good deal, or they did good work etc...So if anything use me as sort of a guinnea pig in this matter. I had a GREAT experience both with the service of the rep and of the part they fixed for me. In my opinion it's $$ well spent to both save alot of $$$, but also, from what I'm lead to believe, have a much smaller chance of having the part break again. They have a 5yr warranty on their work as well. Their # is 1-800-550-06743.
I had to have my EBCM re-built 4 months ago. Put it back in the car and no more codes. The company I used is on ebay, but I contacted them directly at http://autoecu.com/ Their phone # is at the bottom of the web page.Hope this helps you guys out!
Where do I pour transmission fluid at
CAUTION: The engine must be running when the transmission fluid fill plug is removed, or excessive fluid loss will occur. Transmission fluid may be hot. Since the actual fluid level is unknown, stand clear when removing the fill plug. Have a container ready to capture any lost fluid. Do not turn the engine off with the fill plug removed, as you can be injured by hot transmission fluid being expelled out of the oil fill opening.
Transmission fluid dipstick on 2001 Corvette?
Hi,
No there is no tube/dipstick under the hood as the tranmission is in the rear of the car. You need to lift it up level and then check the fluid.
I own a 01 vette as well. Change the fluid 50k the first time and check/replace every 30k after that. Just a standard filter fluid change is fine. No need to flush.
