There is a good possibility that an object might have fallen in through one of your defrost vents or if you have a A/C air cab filter behind the glove compartment you might want to check there.

check for worn wires under the dash shorting on the steering shaft replace the ignition switch --not the key barrel and tumbler

If you also replaced the control board inside the fob you will need to reprogram the fob and any others you have for the truck as well.

It's located underneath the intake exhaust manifold , the best way to do this is to get under the front of the engine then look underneath the manifold ps can be tricky and small hands are best for this good luck colin

the code p 4044 refers to exhaust gas recirculation range /performance--reading above or below the specified range could be a problem valve or solenoid or wiring the remark about the cat converter is valid as it indicates that when under load the cat converter is blocking the exhaust this occurs when the honeycomb internals cracks and the bits block the exhaust exit under high gas flows ( from your use description) you can get replacement cat converters that use flange fittings and they are therefore cheaper when needing replacing cat converters crack when running hot and are then immersed in extreme cold ( snow , running ice water)when driving

Does it even make a click sound? If it doesn't do anything at all my first guess without seeing the vehicle is that there is an issue with either the ground or the power wire. Sounds like something may be disconnected. There is also a power wire on the starter that if it is disconnected or broke will also make the system do the same thing. Also, check the starter relay. Can you lock and unlock your vehicle with the key fob? If so try locking then unlocking it and see if it will start. If it starts then you will need sentry module. You can also try putting your vehicle and neutral and starting it. If it does start then that means your neutral safety switch which is located on your transmission is bad. Could be as simple as a defective ABS sensor or a broken wire,You will have to get the codes checked to locate the wheel or area causing the problem.
