check the actuator motor or motors to be sure they are working properly. They are on the inside down by the heater vent in the center and work the doors for heat to ac.

The throttle is a fly by wire type, no more throttle cables, when you press the gas the computer reads that via a throttle pedal sensor and then commands a motor on the engine throttle valve to open the throttle to the desired power setting which it reads through yet another position sensor at the throttle valve on the engine. You have a problem somewhere in the system. What you need now is the dealer to troubleshoot the complex system and find out what is happening that is triggering the warning light for the throttle control..

Can you gain access to the latch mechanism from the inside of the vehicle. ie plastic cover of rear hatch ? Maybe you can trip the mech to open from the inside.

I would check your wires in the dashboard the wire that sends a signal to shut off the engine may be sparking or cut if you do not know which wire maybe hire a mechanic or look it up. Thanks, Landon

Hello my name is Landon We had this problem before when we were traveling We went to get gas and the Invert er was on this may be why your battery drains so quickly I would recommend getting a new battery but be sure that your Invert er is off because it can only run when the vehicle is on because the invert er runs off the alternator so if the vehicle is off than the invert er drains the battery. Check the sensor on the catalytic convertor may need to be tightened.

Check your coolant for any trans fluid mixing,& ck the trans fluid for coolant, the radiator may have an internal leak (trans/ coolant), If they are mixing within the rad, radiator needs replacement. If OK then there may be 2 separate problems. The cooling system may need service or the rad is rusted and there is a separate trans problem. Ck for fluid mixture first!

It takes a lot more power to crank the engine than it does to run the headlights, so it's still possible that the battery is discharged. I might try giving it a boost from another vehicle with booster cables before doing anything else. When you do a boost, it's very important to do it the right way (there should be instructions in your owners' manual if you're unfamiliar with the process).

Possible bad starter. Bad solenoid will do that. Just a suggestion if you checked other things.

Not sure about the 96 but, voltage regulators generally have to do with the alternator. As a matter of a fact you can just replace the voltage regulator on the alternator as opposed to spending the money that it cost to replace the whole alternator, I found this out because a mechanic ripped me off and charged me for a alternator but, he only replaced the voltage regulator diode part on the alternator.. Replacing the PCM is going to be expensive and in my opinion not necessary

Bank 1 in the back CATALYTIC converter (on the back side of the engine) Bank 2 is on the front and you can see it if you look down behind the radiator. They cost close to $300 just for the part and then it cost me $125 in labor. You can replace 1 at a time and just wait for the code to come for the bank 2 Cat converter. You can use CAT clean that you can get at Pep Boys to clear the check engine light and code but, it only last a couple of weeks. You will have to replace it no doubt. I have already replaced both of mine. The back one really needs to be on a lift to replace. The front one BANK 2 can be replaced by jacking it up. You cannot clean these things like soaking them in some fluid after you take them off. They have precious metals like palladium. You will have to pay a core charge and return the old one because they want to rebuild them.
