Can i still have power brakes without abs assist?
on that year vehicle or any vehicle for that matter . ABS has nothing to do with power brakes . Behind the master cylinder is the power brake booster , vacuum controlled . ABS is a system all to it's own . Think you may have thing's mixed up . You may have a vacuum leak or the brake booster is bad . Is the ABS light lit on the instrument cluster .
Why is my fuel gauge acting up?
Your fuel tank level sensor (also known as the tank float assembly) is failing. This usually happens due to corrosion or other contaminant getting into the potentiometer in the assembly.
These can be removed and cleaned, or can be replaced, but it's a bit of a job and usually requires removal of the fuel tank itself.
Thermostat no heat being generated
Can try a few things. I'm going through a similar issue on my 98 dakota right now.
1. Is the temperature gauge on the dash showing the engine getting warm
If not, may be the temperature sensor. Is the electric fan working right. Does it shut off or stay running? There is a relay an fuse for that also.
2. Feel the hoses. They should be rather hot to the touch. In fact, the coolant should be about hot enough to burn you. If after running for awhile they're still cool or just barely warm, I would indeed change the thermostat.
3. If everything feels hot, you could try flushing the heater core. You'll see 2 smaller hoses about the size of a garden hose going through the firewall. They are to your heater core. It may be clogged. Basically you cut the hose and hook a garden hose up to them flushing water through it. If the hose gets stuck on the metal tubes, just cut it off. Don't grip it tight and twist with pliers. Those flimsy metal tubes will collapse then you have a bigger problem.
Wil not start
I would check the ASD and fuel pump relays to see if the coil and fuel pump is getting voltage. Then you may have to figure out if you are dealing with a no spark or a no fuel problem to proceed.
My 1992 dodge grand caravan with the 3.3, will
I have seen similar problems but not exact...First of all / Have you ever changed your radio ? Do you know that it is not getting hot and shutting itself off ?...I have seen the temp.gauge be faulty and make the vehicle think it is hot and shut itself off...and be sure you have a good alternator and battery...also make sure the cables are good and tight...I have seen a loose ground cable cause the same thing also..The negative cable being loose will cause an ECM code that is false...Be sure they are both clean and tight...Hopefully you disconnected the battery when you changed the computer...If not ...Disconnect the neg.cable and allow it to reset itself...It may to to be just reset..Hope this helps..Metalpoet
My 1992 dodge caravan v6
You'll have to go over it and makes sure all the wiring harness is hooked up right; if it has ran since the engine was put in it may just be a bad connection, it could also have a bad module on the computer causing this the coil pack gets its main power from the pcm,and its possible its bad. Also I suggest check for any blown fuses also, a bad ignition switch will also cause this.

Where is the idle air
Hi, the idle air control valve is on the throttle body held in by 2 bolts. You will need to remove the air ducts to access the throttle body. See picture for the location of the valve/motor. Sometimes the valve is just dirty or the passages blocked by gunk. When taking the valve out, try to save the gasket. After taking the valve out, check the passages and the valve itself for dirt/blockage. If it's dirty, try cleaning and reinstalling before you buy a new one. Use the old gasket, if possible.
When I turn on the
This is likely a bum BCM ( body control module) which also acts as your complete fuse block. This will be on the very left of the dash board either with the door open and behind a panel or under the dash. You can usually get a used one from a local salvage yard. Be sure to match all numbers that are on the unit itself or it can effect the accesories you have by causing some not to work. If you need instructions on removal, let me know.
I'm a little unsure where
check fluid when hot, engine running in park, if low add a little at a time through the dipstick tube. yyou'll need to dip, clean, dip several times to get excess fluid still going down tube out of the picture.
I broke the vacuum hose from the intake manifold
It shouldn't affect your brakes. It will affect heater operation and will cause a vacuum leak that will affect engine performance and possibly cause the check engine light to come on. If you can, replace it with a rubber vacuum hose and get rid of that hard plastic stuff.
