Crankshaft Position Sensor
As the main sensor the computer uses to calculate the timing of the spark, it can cause a no spark condition. Or sometimes if not working right, the engine won't stay running-it will start and quickly shut off. You cannot really tell if it is working or not, without testing the circuit (3 wires usually-a ground wire, a signal wire to computer, and a 5 volt reference signal from the computer).
If you have no spark on a spark plug wire, it could be the crank sensor or circuit, but without testing it is just a guess.
Coolant leak
check hoses in that area. Have a pressure test done on the coolant system to find the leaks. IT may be a rusted welsh plug in the block or head. Check to make sure that it is coolant as the ac evaporator drain hose is also in that area

1996 dodge caravan no heat heater core is good,
check the switch valve one of the heater pipes goes to it i don\'t see a lot off dodge cars here so that would be what i think the problem is. some there is to pipes go into a box and the box has a plug on it the to pipes go in and look like they come straight out but in side the box is a valve only opens when you put the heater on in the cab. others are vacuum type on the hose line there will be a round topped box with 3 pipes on it one in and 2 out. on the top there will be a vacuum pipe on it. when the engine is running it give it the suck to open it when you use the heater control. when it is off it closes the vacuum and the water just does round the engine and not into the cab. hope this helps.
Windshield wipers won't operate except when the
Yes it is called the body control module and is notorious for going bad, don't try to save any money buying it in a junkyard since these modules are PART number specific to each van. The dealer will have to flash it which means you will spend about 900 to 1000 to replace it including labor. But it's the only way to get it to work.
Current goes from the switch to the body control module THEN to the wipers which is why they are not working.
