Try loosening as much as possible after several turns of the rachet remove socket and rachet snap the plug wire back on the spark plug and gently lift out see if that works. Good Luck !!

First of all, check to see if the battery is charged completely. Then check to see if the alternator is bad.

The clicking you hear is likely caused by the starter selenoid or (starter relay switch). The starter switch is used to start cars and is a high-current switch. This consists of discs and also contains a set of windings. When the relay is energized, it moves the contact disc. Sometimes the contact discs can get stuck in place which will then make a clicking sound. You can replace this switch for right around $20 or so at your local auto parts dealer, like Autozone. Attached is a generalized picture of what the starter switch may look like.

Here is a simple test to determine the condition of the battery and alternator.
First, make sure the battery posts are clean and the cables are in good shape.

Using a volt meter, check standing battery volts at the posts, with nothing in the car on.
Lets say 12 to 13 volts is good. If standing battery voltage is way less than 12 volts the battery is probably bad.
Now start the engine, make sure no electrical items are on and check the battery voltage at the posts again. This reading should be 1 to 1.5 volts higher than the first reading.
If there is little or no change, or less volts then the alternator is bad.

Just for fun, while the engine is running, turn on the things you normally have on when driving and check the voltage one more time. If volts continue to drop, then without a doubt its the alternator.

This sounds like a bad starter but you should of got dash lights and headlights, if there are no headlights or park lights and no dash lights then theres a bad connection, start at the battery remove the terminals and clean posts then follow the groung wire to engine block and make sure theres a good connection to engine, a quick trick is to use jumper cables and connect one end to battery neg terminal and the other end to the engine, a good clean spot of metal and then see if theres power, if there is then its the ground cable to engine, if theres still no power then locate the box that the postive cable goes to, this pos cable goes to the starter and also to a fuse/relay box, check that connection. good day.

Neons have a real problem with loose wiring under the dash - I have an 1995 and I tap on the curved cover over the speedometer. This is far from a cure but it will keep you going until you can find a replacement cluster and that is all I have heard really fixes the problem.

WHEN A/C IS TURNED ON IT PUTS A LOAD ON ENGINE. U MAY WANT TO DO A TUNE UP AND MAKE SURE THAT THERE ARENT ANY VACUUM LEAKS. ALSO MAKE SURE THAT THE COMPRESSOR IS NOT GOING BAD. THAT WILL CAUSE EXTRA AMPERAGE ON SYSTEM

Well, it might need a tune up or maybe the idel is set to low or injectors may need cleaning ??

on the end of the valve cover on the left side of the engine.may have to remove the air intake hose to gain access to the sensor.

Sounds like your voltage regulator is bad but you in addition you have a short somewhere causing these issues. Before you added the electrical stuff you were describing verbatim what I went through just before my timing belt broke. The oil would appear to be good but if I made a left hand turn a little too fast the oil light would come on. Now the good news, all of those repairs, assuming you do not have water in your oil (indicated by a creamy white or grey color when you remove the oil fill cap on the valve cover) can be made with the engine installed if you have two jack stands, two hydraulic jacks and a good metric socket and wrench set. (Preferably floor jack models) The alternator is difficult to reach but can most easily be removed from the bottom rear of the motor. You will also want to get a Haynes Repair Manual on your vehicle before starting. Auto Zone will lend you the special tool needed to remove the Harmonic Balance Pulley if you don't have one. The whole job takes about 6 hours if you take the time to review the steps and pay attention when your taking it apart.
