Fuel Pump Relay, Where is the gd thing? Looked everywhere!!!
If you can hear the fuel pump then most likely the ASD relay and fuel pump circuit is working properly. If all it does is back fire w starting fluid something else is going on. Get a inexpensive code reader. Or turn the key 3 times quickly from off to accessory finishing on accessory and look at the odometer it should give you a code. Sounds like a timing issue or CKP, CMP coalition issue.
Error code p0340
No CAM Signal At PCM, Camshaft sensor circuit...
but other lists show: "Catalyst System Low Efficiency Bank 2"...
As you DON'T give enough information on car behavior, I cannot help you more...
No fuel pump hum
some possibilities:
*A burned pump motor.
*A stuck (with dirt) pump impeller (easy with less than clean gasoline).
*The Auto Shut Down relay has opened. (Check Trouble codes on odometer by performing the "Key Dance").
*damaged or dirty fuel pump connector or wiring.
Best luck, Amclaussen.
Brake calipers stopped retracting
You need to perform a complete brake caliper service.
Sticking calipers could need piston seal and rubber boot replacement, inspecting if the cylinder bore got twisted or out of round (when an unproperly trained brake technician puts the caliper in a bench vise and deforms it!).
Brake calipers need clean and properly lubricated sliding pins (the shiny, Chrome plated rods that support the caliper on the caliper mountong bracket), and new rubber boots that prevent dirt from getting on them. Proper high temperatura brake caliper silicone based grease is made by "ATE", "Bendix" and others, but you need to avoid overapplyin it or getting ANY on the rotor or brake pad surfaces!
I have achieved completely quiet brakes, without any noise by applying a coat of a marvelous substance called "Husky Brake pad compound" available in a small can. Follow directions and don't overapply it. Best luck. Amclaussen.
Brake rotors getting red hot
Simple:(unless you are racing autocross), the brake pads are not releasing. This can be caused by several posible causes:
Clogged or?fices inside the Master Brake Cylinder.
Malfunctioning brake booster
Sticking brake calipers.
Damaged brake hoses.
A complete brake inspection is necessary, but anyway, overheated disc brake rotors that got red-hot will most probably got twisted or damaged and will be in need of replacement.
In my Stratus (a 2002 turbocharged R/T Sedan) I installed Premium ATE Brand rotors which have an elliptical slot. These Premium discs are needed at my altitude of more tan 7350 ft above sea level because engine vacuum is barely adequate to stop the car, and by using those rorots together with ceramic brake pads from Centris Parts (Posi-Quiet Brand) I achieved much better braking power. 2001 Dodge Stratus won't start after an alternator and a new battery installation. What can I do?
For any engine to start and run, you need Air, Spark, Fuel and Compression. Since Starting Fluid was not much help. Let us rule out Fuel for now. Something Bad would be wrong if the engine was not getting Air, let us rule that out. This leaves us with Spark and Compression. Why don't we look at Spark? Remove one of the Spark Plug wires just about or a bit after Sunset. Place the wire on a loose spark plug and place the metal Spark Plug on something that you know is Grounded or part of the Metal Car Body. Now have someone crank the car while you watch the Spark Plug. Do you see a nice white or whitish blue spark as the engine turns over? If not troubleshoot from there to restore Spark. For this engine to run, you also need Compression. For this to happen the Cam Shaft must be turning and Opening and Closing the Valves. You may buy or rent a Compression Checker at any Autoparts House. Sure hope that my answer helps a bit. Just take it one step at a time....

Can u replace a 2.7 l engine to a 3.0 l 2001 dodge
no, the 2.7 is a chrysler engine, the 3.0 is a mitsubishi engine. the transmissions are different, so is every thing else. i believe the 3.0 is a very reliable engine compared to the 2.7, i drive a 3.0 myself. alot of 2.7 engines go bad with less than 100,000 miles. research the 2.7 and you will see what i mean
