2002 Dodge Neon - Page 2 Questions & Answers
Hi, my neon '02 doesn't have any power, when
Can be different reasons, but most likely would be spark plugs. Here are some things to check:
1. Spark plugs are usually the first thing to check when you lack power
2. Spark plug leads - if you've replaced the sparks and still no luck, consider replacing the leads as well.
3. Fuel pump - you may not get enough fuel to the engine
4. O2 sensor - connect a diagnostic tool and see if any errors come up

2002 dodge neon running VERY HOT ... what to do next?
Have you verified that system has been "burped" of air? That the fans kick on? Check radiator hoses for kinks. You can try running without the thermostat to see if that helps and can identify if the thermostat could be a problem. You may need to check your coolant mixture too.
Sounds like you have reduced flow or restriction in cooling (heat exchanger) as it runs fine at cooler temp but can't keep up when it gets warm.
New parts don't always equal working fine parts.
My car jerks or kicks
Hi.
There is a number of possible reasons for the car jerking when you put in reverse. Things are also different depending if you have auto or manual tranny.
As first thing check the tranny fluid and eventually replace the fluid. This will rule out a common reason for troubles of this kind (or eventually fix the problem).
If that does not help, go to a local garage and have the motor mounts checked. This is the most typical reason for this problem, at least on manual transmission.
On Auto trans, after checking mounts, also have the torque converter clutch tested. A bad shift solenoid in the solenoid pack (in the valve body) may cause the reverse shifting roughly.
Also ensure that the problem is not linked to high idle.
How to change the middle motor mount on a 2002 Dodge Neon rt
Changing the center motor mount is almost impossible to do with lifting the motor up from the can. I had a 2002 neon and I replaced the other mounts and left the center mount alone. The other new mounts seem to compensate for the bad one. I have been told that the motors are designed to shake a little.
