Why does my 2002 dodge neon idle rough when cold any other time runs smooth ?
Sounds like it just is not getting enough fuel when cold. Try using a bottle of injector cleaner from the Dodge dealer. Make sure it shows naptha on the label and do NOT get any on the paint.
If that doesn't fix it be alert to temporary rough idle when stopping at stoplights. That will indicate you will need to have it scanned.

Tran, po605 = (transmission control module ROM self test fault detected AISIN transmission ) I would first clear the code and see if it comes back ,that will tell you that it's a real code and not just a fluke.do you see or feel any difference in the car when driven ?are your fluids full ?
What does this code mean po455

2002 Dodge Neon automatic transmission sometimes doesn't shift out of first gear
You will first need the TCM (computer) scanned for fault codes. If none show up then then try changing the transmission fluid and filter inside the transmission, if that doesn't work it is time to have an expert diagnose the issue. The TCM scan will need a special scanner, not the one that parts stores use to scam the engine computer (PCM)
What causes car to stall while driving
Honestly, it is not possible to answer your question accurately without further detail.
- How fast are you going when the vehicle stalls?
- Are you on open highway or in stop-and-go city traffic?
- Are you accelerating? Decelerating? Idling?
- Are you going uphill? Level road? Downhill?
- What are the ambient weather conditions? Hot? Cold? Clear? Rainy? Daytime? Night time? Lights on? Lights off?
- Is your CHECK ENGINE light illuminated while the car is running? If so, have you extracted the codes?
- Were there any precursor symptoms to the failure?
- Have you tried any diagnostic steps?
Also, please understand that it is not uncommon for a 12 year old vehicle to experience failures. Has it had a major tune-up? Has it been properly maintained? Do you know the repair history of the vehicle?
