1995 Oldsmobile Aurora - Page 8 Questions & Answers
Cant getting heat out the heater just warm not hot
Check to see that the engine is reaching operating temperature. If not - thermostat is likely stuck open.
If you are reaching temperature, be sure the coolant level is full. Next look to see if the heater core is blocked or partially blocked.
Also, verify that the blower fan is operating.
My battery will not keep
You may or may not need to replace the battery. To check if it is a drain from one of the systems on your car; unhook the battery overnight and see if it kept the charge till morning. If it is still charged in the morning then it is not the battery.
Why is'nt my transmission shifting, it only
If this is an Automatic transmission, then I would start by making sure that it has the proper amount of transmission fluid in it. This would cause it not to want to shift through the gears.
My 1995 aurora is over
Change the thermostat! The thermostat is what opens and closes when the engine gets too hot or cold. When it heats up, the valve opens and kicks the fan on.
We have replaced the alternator
I would spend maybe 10 bucks at the parts store and get one of the digital display meters
that plugs into the power port (lighter) and see if it is the charging system or prove that it's the dash. Should run about 14.6 volts. Make sure the smaller black wire from ground on the battery
has a good connection with the chassis. On my vehicles I run a heavy wire from the alternator mounting bracket to a good ground on the body(ie strut tower) Just to be sure.
Hope this helps
