My 1996 oldsmobile aurora wont start with a
Sounds like it would be the starter, but make sure you are using a good pair of jumper cables, and they are making a good connection to each vehicle. Also check to see that your battery terminals are tight.
96 aroura slow to start but once started runs fine turn off ingition restart with no problem so what cause the slow start up
I would like more information on your problem. If the engine turns over slowly at first and after starting swings over faster, you could have a battery on its way out. Have a battery specialist test it.
If the engine swings over fast but does not fire immediately you could have fouled spark plugs. When last did you replace them?
You could also have bad spark plug leads - they tend to rob the plugs of spark and this is only noticeable at start up. When the engine is warm it does not affect the spark enough for you to notice.
How do you change the a/c compressor on a 96 old aurora?
just changing the compressor, some auto parts stores have videos on this. you will need a vacuum pump and some parts. there is not partial fix on AC. the refrigerant gas is corrosive when it is in contact with water. so, the old lines must be cleaned the dryer must be replaced, the "O" rings must be replaced. the orifice must be replaced. after all the parts are replaced a vacuum pump is put on the system for at least 4 hours. after that, the pump is turned off and the valves are closed and the gage is watched until you are sure there is no leak, then the charge in placed in the system. I forgot, you must also ad the correct "pag oil" if you still what to know how to do this let me know and I will try to find you a link, or you can try Auto Zone
How to install water pump
Drain the cooling system.
Remove air cleaner.
Remove water pump belt cover (4 bolts)
Remove water pump drive belt by moving the belt tensioner in the direction which loosens the belt.
Remove the bypass hose
Remove the lower hose and pump cover.
Use remover/installer tool (J-38816), rotate pump assembly clockwise to remove from vehicle.
** this tool may be available for "rent" from your local auto parts store. It is necessary to prevent tearing the new pumps' seal during installation and it make removing a stuck pump much easier. Also, once you return the tool the auto parts store refunds ALL of your money.
How minny quarts of oil dose a 96 olds aurora hold
A typical automobile holds 4-5 quarts of oil.....Depends on the size of motor. If changing yourself, Drain out all oil, change filter, put oil plug back in. Put 3- 31/2 quarts back into car. put oil cap on and start car. Let run for 2-3 minutes then shut back off. Wait for a few. Pull out dipstick wipe, put back in then pull out a second time...Now you know how much you need to top off level.
