check the distributor cap, it may be cracked or have a bad wire.

Do you have any lights on, on the dash? Check engine, Service Engine Soon? Any shift levers on this car for transfer case? Sounds like probably internal problem with vicous clutch.

No it won't ruin your motor but it will boil off and freeze if it freezes ya you will have a big problem the biggest thing other than freezing is plain water is not capable of handling nearly as much heat also can rust ferous metal parts like engine blocks, water pump impellers, steel gaskets etc. Spend the 25 30 buck and put coolant in your car its a lot easier and will give you less headaches than just water. Also if the water does begin to boil off the pressurw in the cooling system will jump causing your radiator cap to move water to the overflow tank or run it right out of the system and low water will cause an overheating condition

On a Bravada, the engine is positioned so that you have 4 cylinders on your left and right in an 8 cylinder, and 3 on each side in a 6 cylinder. If you look on each side you will see separate valve covers, About 4 inches below these covers are where your spark plugs go in. They will be between your exhaust pipes, where they mount to your engine.
