How do I reset the light on my dashboard that says service brake system ? I've replaced the brakes and they are installed correctly.. no problems.. but the display still shows. Is there like a code ( turn off truck, tap gas 2 times, etc.) to turn this off?? Its a 2005 Chevy Silverado by the way.
Check ABS system for codes. I have an '03 Silverado and have a faulty EBCM( Electronic Brake Control Module, "ABS module"). Can't reset anything. Only replacement of EBCM will fix it. Incidentally, if you have to replace it, you can check on Ebay for a rebuilt unit. You shouldn't have an issue with your "base" braking system though, if this is the case. ABS is electronically controlled and with or without it, your brakes will still function. I hope this helps.

The truck is cranking but their isn't the smell of fuel. I crossed my fingers hoping it was just low on fuel, but no ... it still wouldn't start. Is there any easy way to remove and replace the fuel pump? photos would be useful.
First check the fuel pump fuse in the fuse panel to make sure its not blown. Chances are that it is the fuel pump, that is a common problem with chevy trucks. The easiest way to access the fuel pump is to remove the bed of the truck from the frame. Good luck. dont forget to rate.

2001 Chevy Silverado 5.3L 4WD. I changed out the water pump (opted for a new one, not remanufactured) and changed out the thermostat. I slow filled the return container with antifreeze until I saw no more bubbles. I turned on the engine and let it run for about 10 minutes. The engine temperature went to 250degF in no time. Killed the engine and felt the top hose. It was tight and so was the bottom hose. After scratching my head for a while, I took the cap off the return container and added a gallon of water. I put the cap back on, started the engine and got the same overheating. I took the new thermostat off and put the old one back on (which is only a year old) and went through all the steps above. Same thing. I let it cool down, and when I went to take the cap off, it blow off and sprayed water all over. Thank God the water was only warm and not hot. I got mad and went inside to cool off. And here I am typing out this problem with no idea what is going on.
when you replaced your water pump you drained all your coolant now to top it off leave the cover off your tank cause as your thermostat opens it will allow more water to enter your block. keep topping it off till it doesnt drain into your block anymore. this will be a while since when you add water it cools your thermostat and closes and will reopen when reaches temp.

How do you change rear axle seal in a chevy pickup
To change the rear seal, yo will need to raise and support the rear of the vehicle. Remove the wheels and drums or rotors (depending on drum or disc brakes.) Remove the rear differential cover bolts and the cover (have a drain pan under the differential) You will likely need to turn the driveshaft so the center pin bolt is acessible at the back or the differential. This is a 5/16" (or 8mm) bolt that is on the right (passenger) side of the differential carrier assembly. I recommend a new bolt be installed here on reassembly. Once the retaining bolt is out, slide the center pin out enough to allow the axle shafts to be pushed in toward the center of the diff. to remove the "C" clips that retain the axle shafts in the carrier assembly. Be careful if you happen to pull the center pin all the way out not to allow the carrier assembly (has the ring gear mounted on it) to turn, as this can rotate the spider gears out of alignment causing a headache on reassembly. With the "C" clip removed the axle shaft can be pulled out of the diff. Inspect the bearing area of the shaft for rust, pitting, or scoring. Remove the old seal and carefully install the new one. Reverse proceedures to install. Take care to note the "C" clips and center pin bolt are properly reinstalled. Fill with 2.5 to 3 quarts of rear axle grease for you vehicle.
good luck.

Have a 2002 silverado and my abs and brake light stays on and the brakes are fine, why?
The warning lights are indicating a malfunction has been detected in either the sensing or actuation portion of the ABS system. Your base brakes will function normally but in the event of an ABS controlled stop on an "icy" or "slippery" stretch of road were the ABS system would take over to prevent a skid, that automatic system will not function.
Have the vehicle scanned for trouble codes to find out which portion of the system has malfunctioned.
Good luck,
Regards,

need a spark plug wiring diagram for chevy 4.3 v6
looking from the front of engine if its not a transverse engine(side-ways installed), the plugs on the drivers side from left frt to firewall are 1-3-5 and the passenger side from frt to firewall would be 2-4-6-

key ignition door chime will not go off even with key removed
This sounds like the contact arm inside the ignition is stuck, try spraying the cylinder lock with a small amount of wd40 and then work the key in and out of the lock, if that doesnt work then remove the lock and check for broken contact, heres a picture to help you understand the way it operates, good day.
