I own a 1995 E420 and it's been having some really

That is the 119 V8 and a very good engine. Chances are it needs a tune-up. If I remember correctly, it uses copper spark plugs so you don't get the same amount of mileage out of them as you would platinum or iridium spark plugs, Also the caps & rotors are notorious for going bad and will sometimes cause problems in wet weather and when the engine is at operating temperature in Summer weather. The wires are also a another trouble area. It is a rather pricey tune-up because to do it properly, you should replace the plugs, wires, both caps and both rotors. As for the burning oil, that means there is probably an oil leak above the exhaust manifolds. You probably have leaking valve cover gaskets. They like to leak in the back where there are 2 humps in the gasket. Try and get a latex or Nitrile pair of gloves and run your fingers across the back and see if there is fresh oil back there just below the valve cover.

My Mercedes C200 Komp has started sticking in 2nd or 3rd gear for the first journey of the day only(?) Been advised of a gear box oil leak and told that an Electrol spped plate, filter, oil and plug i

hi check and clean the MS air flow sensor, also the gear box needs a service every 2 years. now the service technician will tell you major gear box problems but it happened to me aswell and it turns out the valves inside the gear box was sticking to the valve body and causing the gears to stay in a specific gear till it reaches the rev limiter and would change. so after i got the oil and filter changed on my box, it still got stuck but dont worry as thats a common problem with a very easy solution, take the car on a long road and really put your foot down, let the engine and gear box temperature rise from hard driving and the valves should release itself from the body of the box and re-lubricate itself not to get stuck again

2003 mercedez c320 engine light and error code 005

MB fault codes @ 005 "Engine coolant temperature sensor intermittent connection." It must be some loose connection somewhere. Check the fuses, relays or worse you may have a fried wiring harness, very common with MB's.
