1989 buick park avenue battery wont stay charged
A possibility is an ignition fuse has blown when the radio was removed. Does the battery light light up when the ignition is turned on. The alternator needs that light to energise and charge, (without it you just run the battery flat), failing that charge the battery, connect an amp meter in series, with every thing switched off, should have a reading of about 0.5 amps (Time clock). If above 2amp that is what is draining the battery. Watch meter and pull fuses one at a time, when the reading drops, that is the circuit/equipment that's causing the trouble.
Fuel level jumping all over the place
Due to the age of the vehicle, I would say that you are needing a new sender. This is a float that is in the tank. It means that you are going to have to raise the vehicle and drop the fuel tank. This is not an easy job and can be dangerous. The tank needs to be as empty as you can get it. There are hoses and wires to to contend with too.
I have a 89 buick park avenue ultra. my
the transmission breaking apart but in a really slow way. There's not a thing that can be done to save it. It's going to someday give out. You can prolong it by not punching on the pedal to test it. just drive it normally and DON"T get the trans oil change. Just leave it alone... I own 89 P/Ave 156,000 original owner. Same thing happened to my car and picked up a used trans at junk yard and my mechanic installed it and runs like a baby at half the price(700.00). If you go to junk yards half of the park ave are because of trans. Good luck
