to reset wipers to park position , lift the wipers off the screen activate wipers and then switch off that is the park position now remove the wipers from the shaft and reposition to the park position on the screen refit the nut and they will stop in the park position

check fuses

This sounds like the anti theft security system failing. Very common on GM vehicles, especially 80's Corvettes. The system was originally designed with a starter disable system if the security key was not correct. (or if it was being stolen) Corvette and Cadillac started using a fuel disable system since people would just the starter to steal them. The symptoms are exactly what you describe. Vehicle starts and runs for 1-5 seconds and then dies. It is actually turning off the fuel injectors.
