We are ttrying to remove
Hi!!
Here are the steps to follow in order to remove and replace the ignition lock. Also I'm including a diagram of the Ignition Lock for easier component identification.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the AIR BAG fuse.
- Remove the left side insulator panel.
- Disengage the two yellow 2-way SIR connectors.
- Remove the tilt lever, if equipped.
- Remove the upper and lower steering column trim covers.
- Insert the key in the lock and turn it to the ON position.
- Remove the lock cylinder by pushing against the locking button on the back of the bearing/housing assembly, and pulling outward.
To install:
- Install he new lock cylinder into the housing. Gently push the lock cylinder into place while rotating counterclockwise.
- Install the upper and lower column covers.
- Install the tilt lever, if equipped.
- Engage the two yellow 2-way SIR connectors.
- Install the left side insulator panel.
- Install the AIR BAG fuse.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.
Have 1992 Pontiac Grand Am
Use a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water. Increasing the amount of antifreeze won't improve cooling. Check the rad fans, thermostat and rad cap. Are you losing coolant? Is it leaking or do you have a blown head gasket?

Change front turn signal bulb
i have a 1990 grand am & to change the turn signal bulbs i have to opwn the hood & right over the top of the lens cover are screws that will release them. hope it works 4 ya!
I push the clutch in to start it but the staarter
is your battery charged? turn the head lights on while you try to start and have someone look at the headlights while you try to turn engine over, if the headlights dim while the key is turned to start position, that means the starter is drawing fire. if starter does not turn while doing this, i would say bad starter. if not that,,,there is a neutral safety switch on the clutch. just to make sure your car does not start while in gear, the factory installeda switch on the clutch pedal to insure children and minors can not start your car. unless the clutch in pushed in. the switch is on the clutch pedal, just above the brake pedal[pad] look for a plunger type switch above the pedal.. i hope this helps!!!!
My 1992 grand am se with a quad4 moter wants to
Sounds like the Torque converter clutch is locked up. Unplug the square four pin connector on the transmission. Then let the car cool off and keep playing with it until it unlocks. After that it should be fine. You can leave the plug unhooked or replace the TCC solenoid to fix it.
