93 suburban headlights flashing off and on.

Had same thing and noticed headlight switch gets very, very, hot. Lights flash after lights have been on about 45 minutes, and noticed burning smell. Clamped a 12-volt fan to emergency brake pedal so it's aimed behind dash and facing up toward switch, and wired it in. Problem solved. Others have mentioned the switches on similar-year vehicles also get hot which leads me to believe it's a design issue. Switch can't handle the current going through it and eventually the heat causes it to fail.

I have a 1993 Chevrolet

They have very cheap digital code readers that plug in to the smog check socked under your dash. If you get one at the auto parts store it will tell you the engine problem code and save rebuying all the electrical parts of your ignition. Cheaper in the long run.

1993 Chevy Suburban....tranny runs and shifts

Sounds like going to need new transmission. When you serviced it the oil would of been new and thicker as it mixes with what was in there it gets thinner and reverse is normally the first to go.

I have a 1993 chevy suburban and just replaced the thermostat, because addmissions wants the surburan to run no higher than 160f . Well the thermostat works but dosen't kick in untill it reaches 2

you will be hard pressed to get a thermostat that opens at160F as that is 71 C and most thermostats have an opening temp of 80 C (175 F) to 85 c which is 185F at a temp of 220F which is 104.4 C your engine is near boiling it indicates that the thermostat has been incorrectly fitted in that the bulb or major part is not in the head or block water but in the hose section go to the dealer spares and see what the temp range is on a new thermostat but I doubt that the manufacturer will get a special thermostat as they use generic items from thermostat manufacturers put in expensive packaging

I have encended in the control panel the ligth

most abs faults start at the sensors in the wheels can be dirt or other material between the sensor and the rotor, broken wiring, missing wiring, faulty wheel bearings allowing the rotor to touch the sensor tip there is no real necessity for abs system as the antiskid action is only there to allow steering control under heavy braking for easy stopping and moderate braking , it doesn't work. it is an electronic controlled pump that maintains line pressure to foot brake pressure for when a wheel stops turning , the valve releases the ;line pressure for a split second and then reapplies the line pressure when wheel rotation is again recorded get yourself a workshop manual for the vehicle ( any gm product ( suburban , s10, blazer ) will have the same system installed and the principle of operation is the same for all manufacturer models

Where is the location of the ignition relay on a 1993 GMC suburban

I'd make sure the battery has a full charge and battery connections are all good. One of the positive battery leads goes to junction block, probably several fusible links, check for voltage on both sides of links. Check fuses in fuse box for voltage, use a testlight, some fuses are hot all the time, some go hot with the key on. You may also need to check voltage to and from ignition switch.

What causes high pressure in cooling system?

i can give you a general answer. the cooling sys is a closed system. as the engine warms up pressure is also increased. kinda like how a boiler works, or a pressure cooker. i dont know the figure of how much pressure is produced within an engine that is operating normally. the engine's thermostat. the thermostat of many car engines opens at 195 deg coolant temp, allowing the coolant to circulate. high pressure when considering a car's cooling sys to me is relative. if you try to remove the radiator cap when the engine is at/near/above operating temp you will be burned by the hot coolant under pressure rapidly escaping out the radiator. most pressure that is above normal is caused by an obstruction somewhere in the system. a t'stat that is stuck shut is an example. air pockets within the system will also lead to high pressure within the system. air pockets occur when you refill the system with coolant/water. pouring water/coolant back into the radiator traps air that can circulate throughout the system and you must ensure that these air pockets escape out the radiator, or you risk damaging the engine from excessive heating.

1993 Chevy Suburban will not start and has no spark

Check all fuses under the hood. Test the coil with an ohmmeter. Check for battery voltage on the coil primary with key on. If all good, suspect the crank position sensor. A bad sensor will cause no spark.

1993 7 suburban doesn't start wants to but it doesn't start all the way and it makes a funny noise

Hard to say anything about the 'funny noise'. The engine needs fuel, air, and spark to start and run. If any of these are lacking then it won't. I would first remove a spark plug from each side of the engine to see what MAY be going on. If the spark plugs are wet with fuel, then I would lean towards it being an ignition problem. If they are dry, then it could possibly be a fuel problem. You could also remove the distributor cap to see if there is corrosion on the terminals of the cap and rotor. I had to rescue a GM vehicle a few years ago that quit running going down the road. The engine acted like it wanted to start but just wouldn't. I did the above suggested checks and it turned out to be the distributor cap and rotor were both corroded to the point of not allowing the spark to get to the spark plug wires. New cap and rotor and it started right up and has been running ever since. Hope this helps.

1993 Chevy Suburban. Why does it want to start but doesn't turn?

If your saying the starter motor won't crank? Make sure the battery has a full charge and battery connections are all good. Then check the wiring circuits at the starter for voltage and ground. When testing at the starter make sure tranny is in park or neutral and the parking brake is set. If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the spark plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure, also check fuel injector pulse. Can you check applicable trouble codes? How long since a tune-up?
