How to set timing
your car has a timing chain, if it stretches out far enough it needs to be replaced. It has an automatic adjuster on it to keep the timing correct as it stretches, when the chain stretches beyond any more adjustment you need to change it before it breaks.
This may sound dumb, but where do you put the
It doesn't sound dumb, I asked myself the some question when did it first time.
Use only specified Transmission Oil for your car. To find it check your Owners Manual, Visit your Car Dealer, or simply visit your local car parts store AutoZone, NPA ... Add Transmission Fluid through the dipstick pipe as shown in the image. The engine must be in idle. If you overfill it you have to take out small amounts. Buy 7 feet 5/8 I.D clear vinyl hose and siphon transmission fluid from the dip stic, and fill it out again to the mark. If you need more information read my tip at:

Chevy cavalier 1998 2.2l Engines shake and when change to speed, it goes off
Carlos it sounds to me like your running with a dead cylinder. I want you to test for spark on all four of your plugs one at a time. You can buy a spark tester at most auto parts stores or just use a small diameter but long screw driver. With the engine off key off pull a plug wire off and insert the plug end of tester into the wire boot or stick the end of the screw driver in and attach the clip on tester to engine block or hold the shaft of the screw driver an 8th of an inch from the block an have a helper crank the motor ( be sure to keep all lose clothing and items away from moving parts) if you see spark jump the gap it's good. You can also remove the spark plug stick it back in the wire boot and holding the boot hold the threaded end of plug against the block. And watch the electrode for blue spark. I'm thinking you have a bad coil.
