My 1999 Chev Silverado heater control will switch to A/C on it's own
I had this problem occur on another vehicle of mine and it freaked me out for awhile. But I found that the AC pushbutton was semi-stuck and whenever I went over a somewhat significant bump the controls would switch over to AC. I finally replaced the AC pushbutton and the problem went away. I am assuming that you have a pushbutton, right?
Have the same abs problem with my 1998 silver ado
abs systems do not lock on the brakes
they release the brakes when the wheels stop spinning and when the wheels start turning again apply the same brake pressure as before the wheels stopped spinning
check the proportioning valve to the rear brakes to ensure that it is not acting as a one way valve and that is causing the problems
if the compensating port in the master cylinder for the rear wheels is blocked that also will lock the rear brakes
I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado Z71 it has over 100,000 miles. It runs great except sometimes when it gets between 50-60 MPH it will hiccup on an incline. I had the transmission flushed by the mechani
This sounds more like a misfire under load than a transmission issue. This is one of the most misdiagnosed problems we see on a regular basis. The fact that it is only noticeable while going up an incline leads me to believe you likely have worn out spark plugs, and/or a weak ignition coil.
While you do not have a check engine light on, this can happen when you have only a minor or very intermittent misfire. Once the misfire becomes worse or happens more often, the computer will turn on the light- or cause the light to flash indicating a serious misfire which could cause catalytic converter damage.
Try having your garage monitor their scan tool data for real time misfires while driving it under a load such as the incline you mentioned, or even while brake-torquing the engine (pushing the throttle slightly while the transmission is in gear and the wheels are chocked and brakes applies) This can help duplicate the conditions where you noticed the issue. Monitoring the misfire data can help them pinpoint which cylinder(s) is misfiring and swapping spark plugs or ignition coils between cylinders can determine which component is causing the issue.

Click on the link. I always check voltage and ground, w/o ground also, it won't work. The top wires in diagram are voltage depending on what your trying to do? The black wire is ground. You can check ground by also using a test light. One end of test light touches battery voltage, the other end touches black wire terminal. If the lite comes on, the ground is good enough to work the test lite.
1997 chevy 1500 5.7 vortec
With you. Looks like you have changed everything. Driving a '95 Odyssey - Love it. Has a Real transmission, and all the goodies I grew up with. Parts that make sense. So - what does Autozone say? About it's computers? Mine has only one, and it is ...lame. Is it throwing any 'codes'? Hubby is the expert. Hope to send this to him. JW
1999 chevy silverado 5.3 starts then dies out
check to see if you can hear a loud sucking sound (air) going into the throttle body when the engine starts then dies. if you hear alot of air being sucked into the throttle body, replace the Coolant Temperature sensor located close to the thermostat housing on top of the intake manifold. If this $12.00 part goes bad, it will cause the same symptom you have described. You can check the sensor for correct reading by using a scan-tool.
Driver side power window on
Motor is not turning in second direction to lower window. Either the new motor is defective or the device that reverses the electricity to the motor is defective. Regulator?
Take motor out and feed it juice - will turn. Reverse polarity and it should turn in other direction.
99 Chevy Silverado 4x4 not working No light on 4x4 Selector Panel
Your brake an CV joint issue can't an won't cause your 4X4 problem . The 4x4 system has a control module which supply's B+ voltage to the switch . Checking for codes in the 4X4 control module should have been the first step . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop . You don't have the knowledge or test equipment to fix this.
SERVICE indicator (4WD/AWD) Lamp
The SERVICE indicator (4WD/AWD) lamp is an integral part of the cluster and cannot be serviced separately. This lamp is used to inform the driver of the vehicle of malfunctions within the automatic transfer case (ATC) system. The SERVICE indicator (4WD/AWD) lamp is controlled by the transfer case shift control module via CKT 1567.
Transfer Case Shift Control Module
The transfer case shift control module uses the VIN information for calculations that are required for the different calibrations used based on axle ratio, transmission, tire size, and engine. The system does not know which calibration to use without this information.
The direct battery supply line (CKT 1640) provides the power to the module and motor circuitry.
Transfer Case Encoder Motor
The transfer case encoder motor consists of a permanent magnet (PM) DC motor and gear reduction assembly. It is located on the left hand side (drivers side) of the transfer case. When activated it turns the sector shaft of the transfer case (clockwise or counter clockwise) to shift the transfer case. The encoder motor is controlled with a pulse width modulated (PWM) circuit within the transfer case shift control module. This circuit consists of a driver on both the Motor A and Motor B circuits. The encoder motor is bi-directional to allow the motor to shift the transfer case from 2HI or 4HI to NEUTRAL and 4LO positions.

Weres the silenode on a 99 chevy silverado z71 located ours wont shift right and we lost reverse and someone said try the silenode first
Finding a wiring diagram for the shift solenoid in question and testing for control (turn on signal ) from the PCM And checking to see if the solenoid is open is the proper way to find the problem . Not guessing and just replacing parts ! Check engine light on ? The PCM would set a code an turn on the Check engine light if a solenoid was open or if the circuit was open , shorted etc..... How many miles on the trans ? More then likely the reverse clutch has a problem .Before you start replacing parts you don't need take to a qualified repair shop and have it diagnosed . Hooking up a scan tool to check for codes an view data or inputs from the trans range sensor switch and outputs from the computer to shift solenoids . This would save you time and money
