I have recently changed the injector, the fuel filter , the mass air flow, now as I drive down the street the truck just stalls. If I bang on the gas tank it will restart and go for awhile longer so I have been investigating and have come to the conclusion I need to change the fuel pump. I need to know how to do it?? can someone please help me.........
Good Day,
I am assuming that you have the 4.3L V6.
The fuel pump is always a pain on trucks becasue you have to remove the tank to gain access. The pump is bolted in on the top side of the tank. I hope it doesn't have a full tank of gas as it needs to be drained(re-use when job is complete). Not to mention pulling a tank that's full of gas very heavy.
See this link for an overview:

Here's how you test the fuel pump relay, and fuel pump:
Fuel Pump
Also see figure 4 which is digram 3 from this link, this is the schematic on the fuel pump, the fuel pump's hot wire is tan with a white stripe, if you can test the voltage of this wire you can confirm it is not an electrical problem.

Also be sure to releive the fuel pressure before servicing

Let me know if any of this is jibberish to you and I can clarify further.
Good Luck again, and feel free to ask anymore questions.

engine wont start until you prime the throttle body with fuel, then it starts and runs great!
4.3 vortec 1998 chevy blazer, what is wrong and how to repair
thank you scott
i have the same problem on a 98 jimmy 4.3 4x4.
i replaced the fule pump and have good pressure.
new wiers & coil (good spark) no MIL & no codes.
will only start when primed. it will run & drive all day
with no problems.
but once it has been turned off (warm or cold) i will
have to prime it once again to start it.
i have another engine that was in it before it spun a bearing.
it ran fine so i know all parts are good.
i swaped the mass air flow and throttle body but i still have
to prime it everytime to start it. am i forgetting something?
should i swap out the intake with the injectors?
any help would be sweet. thanks.

I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer with automatic push button 4 wheel drive. Since putting the transmission into 4WD high, it is stuck there now. I cannot get it back into 2WD
The first thing I would look at is the shift rod on the transfer case. If I remember correctly, it is on the drivers side and is a rod aboutsix inches long and has two ends that basically pop into rubber gromets. If that rod is bent in any way, or has come loose of the gromets, it will not shift into or out of the four wheel drive. If yours has electronic four wheel drive, the electric acutator could be out or going out. you should be able to remove the rod and simply move the switch by hand on the transfer case. It will get you out of 4 wheel drive until you have the ime to diagnose the electronics at least. It has happened to both my 1994 and 1999 S-10 blazers.

i'm looking for torque specs on the water pump bolts to the block for 2000 chevy blazer 4.3 L
Fig. Exploded view of the water pump assembly mounting-4.3L engine
To install:
NOTE
The water pumps on some of the engines covered may have
been installed using sealer only, no gasket, at the factory. If a gasket
is supplied with the replacement part, it should be used. Otherwise, a
1
/
8
in. (3mm) bead of RTV sealer should be used around the
sealing surface of the pump.
Water pump using a new gasket. Tighten the water pump retainers to
89 inch lbs. (10 Nm) for 4.2L engines, or to 30 ft. lbs. (41 Nm) for
4.3L engines. For 5.3L engines, tighten the bolts to 11 ft. lbs. (15
Nm), then to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
Coolant hose(s)
Water pump pulley. Tighten the pulley bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25
Nm).
Fan or fan and clutch assembly
Serpentine drive belt (if equipped) by positioning the belt over
the pulleys and carefully allow the tensioner back into contact with the
belt.
V-belts (if equipped) and adjust the tension
Upper fan shroud
Negative battery cable
Hope this help to solve it; rebember rated this post. Good luck.

Broke a brake line replaced can't find any leaks. Bled brakes seems like their is plenty of firmness on pressing pedal but when I start blazer pedal goes to floor abs light never came on and still doesn't come on and no codes any heip thanks
if a master cylinder is bad and you are sure you have all the air out and no leaks.pedal will go to floor , running or not. if booster is bad it will cause a hard pedal. but if master cylinder is bad it will turn on a brake light on dash if it works. make sure the wheel cylinders are not leaking. I beleive that the master cylinder is bad, or you have a leak somewhere. If the master cylinder is functioning properly, the brake pedal will depress to a certain depth and no further.

My S10 blazer lacks power, bogs under acceleration, recently truck would not start, took it to a garage and they replaced the injections module (“spider injection module, complete unit", fuel pressure regulator included), truck still lacks power and bogs under acceleration. took it back to the garage and they hooked up the Snap On advantage scan tool, did a bunch of tests, said the fuel pump is on the low side of the spec. I drained all the old fuel out of the tank, removed the tank, and then soaked up what fuel was left in the tank with shop rags before I installed the new fuel pump module and fuel filter sock on the bottom of the module and the fuel filter ( the one on the frame) Still lacks power, the garage said the idle air control mod, throttle control sensor and the mass air flow sensor were all in spec. I already did a complete tune up too, checked compression, it was in spec. Had the Trans checked for clutch binding and shift module problems, found nothing wrong with that. The exhaust was checked out too, the cat is good. When I accelerate kinda hard it sounds like it back fires a little.
Check your coil output, buy a cheep spark tester. Pull of a spark plug wire and plug in the tester(ground the other end), set it to bridge a gap for 30,000 volts.Have someone start it and make sure the spark will jump the gap on the tester.Danger-Very high voltage! It will light you up if your touching the tester while the car is running! You'll be able to see a bright blue spark(and hear it as well) if your coil is good.If it's a yellow thin spark it's probably the coil.
If you have good spark, check the fuel filter and fuel pressure at the fuel rail.
Back firing could be timing, cam position or crank position sensor.Worst case scenario, timing chain or belt.

timing on a 2000 chevy s10 blazer 4.3. Replaced bent push rod and valve, now can't find any specific guidance on how timing is to be set.
The timing is not adjustable. There are two lines on the harmonic balancer, the first line should line up with the mark on the timing cover, towards the bottom, on the driver side of the engine, the second line should line up with an arrow on the timing cover above the first mark. You'll need to have the rotor in the distributor lined up with the "6" on the distributor housing. You may need a long screw driver to turn the oil pump shaft to get the distributor lined up right.
