When I turn the key the stater spins, but i does not turn the engine over.

Maybe problem with starter motor? It does two things, it kicks out the starter drive gear and spins. The flywheel usually has cover, remove the cover, try to see if starter drive gear engages the flywheel teeth, with key in the crank position. Some of the national brand auto stores will test the starter for you. Sometimes, I take the starter off, lay it on the ground, hook up jumper cables properly from battery to starter motor. It should kick out the drive gear and spin, granted that is no load test. Intermittent issues can be a pain.I just want to add, when working under a vehicle, safety is always your responsibility.I just wanted to add, make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good.

6 cyl. Why does it run well for a few miles, then starts to idle roughly, knocks, and shuts down?

Find the idle control near the intake and give it a good clean out. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/gregg_27a4d257e54e7920

4 wheel drive won't engage

Which do you have ? Transfer Case - NVG 236 (Two Speed Automatic) Transfer Case - NVG 233-NP1 (Two Speed Selectable) The NV236 transfer case is an automatic transfer case with three drive ranges. Shifting from rear wheel drive to four wheel drive is done automatically when the transfer case shift control module receives wheel rotating slip information from the speed sensors. The transfer case shift control module then engages the transfer case motor/encoder to position the transfer case from rear to four wheel drive. When the transfer case shift control module receives information that the wheel rotation is the same on both axles, the transfer case shift control module sends position information to the motor/encoder to put the transfer case back into rear wheel drive. The three drive ranges are 2HI, 4HI, and 4LO. The 2HI position is for normal driving with the rear wheels pushing the vehicle. The 4HI, position is for driving through sand, snow, mud, gravel, or heavy rain at normal or slightly below normal speeds. The 4HI engages the front axle to allow for four wheel drive. The front axle is pulling the vehicle, and the rear axle is pushing the vehicle. The 4LO range is used for off road driving, heavy snow, deep mud, or shallow fording. The 4LO is similar to the 4HI except that the gearing in the transfer case is set for low speed and high torque. The NV236 is manufactured at Syracuse New York by New Venture Gear a division of New Process Gear for General Motors. Is the switch light on or flashing ? Location of map sensor on 2000 s10 4.3 motor

I believe yours is built into the mass air flow sensor. If the sensor has at least five wires, it is there. If it has three wires, then look towards the back, left side of the engine. Close to the firewall. I work on to many different cars. I just know how to find them by looking.

Everything was fine, put it in park, about 20sec later the engine just stopped. No misses, no surges, nothing. will not re-start.

Its hard to say for sure .It could be a feak thing that something went when you shifted it into park . But the last thing was to shift to park .Their is a switch you could check on the side of the transmission called the interlock switch its directly hooked to the shift coloum and it moves everytime you move the level.Tells the computer what mode the transmission is in . Try moveing the lever aroud play with it a bit .The switch is located on the drivers side of the trany towards the front of the trany mess with the electrical connecter to it wiggle it around see what happens .It may start if it dose replace the switch .If it dosn't start it may still be the problem . I know this because I also have an S10 and have had similar problems with mine PS its a pain to replace but not hard to get at .

Someone spraypainted my car how do I remove it?

Depends on the paint. Most of the time you can use rubbing or polishing compound to "rub" the spray paint off.As for the sugar, if you have not cranked the engine yet, or turned on the key, you may be able to take the gas tank off and clean it out without having to flush the fuel lines.

Do you have keyless entry If so it could be a connection problem with the motor that controls the lock . Can you electricly control the window . Did you try to move the lock manauly these have child safety systems on them . If none of this works you will have to remove the intierior handle and pull on the rod with a pair of vice grips Then after the door is open lube and adjust eighter the hinges stricker or latch.

2000 s 10 parking lights fuse in engine compartment keeps blowing

Most likely there is a short between parking lights (all 4?) and it's switch. Trace all wires make sure you have no contact with body metal anywhere. Including in the light assembly itself.
