Have the cooling system pressure tested ! 3.1 l engine These engines had intake gasket problems , have the radiator cap tested as well . Bad radiator cap will allow coolant lose . Does the oil cap have whitish or dirty color foam on inside ? Coolant leak into the oil .
It may be possible that flushing the transmission fluid is your problem. Was the fluid really dark and had a slightly burnt smell to it? If the answer is yes, then you probably had an issue with the transmission and didn't know it and the particles suspended in the transmission fluid were what was giving it enough friction to make the shifts, by changing out the fluid you removed all the particles and now the transmission slips and won't shift into certain gears. Just a guess given the information you have provided. I would look at the transmission for the issue.
Codes that light check engine lamp are emissions/engine performance related only. Your DRL and SDM both talk to the ECM for inputs (they need to know if its running), but they dont affect the engine or tell the engine module to change how it runs.
Your ABS can affect how the engine runs as it sends wheel speed information that is used to adjust engine output, transmission shifting, and fuel/timing in some circumstances.
Check the ABS module for signs of water or oil affecting it, or water in the connector plug. Also check the harness where it leaves the module to make sure it isnt rubbing thru anywhere you can see.
GM ABS modules are not uncommon failure items, however mostly they set module fault codes or motor amperage/function codes. Id start with further diagnostics of the ABS.
NOTE: using generic OBD2 scan mode will show you only codes that are check engine lamp related if you want to be sure. Enhanced scan mode shows you any and all, and some of them simply have nothing to do with the engine lamp being on.
The HAZARD LPS fuse in the left hand instrument panel (LH IP) junction block supplies battery positive voltage to the flasher module, which is part of the hazard switch assembly.
This is a pontiac , but yours is close . Pull the panel apart
No ,it's not a vacuum problem . Something electrical more then likely . Crankshaft postion sensor's A or B going out or the ignition control module .Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop that has the proper diagnostic testing equipment ,tool's . To view engine sensor scan data. 047 Engine Hard to Start or No Start Scan Data for Ignition , not saying your's is hard to or no start . Just for demonstration purposes only .
First change the wheel/tire with the spare or another wheel tire to check for any change in shake. If the shake is in the seat it is usually in the rear,if it's in the steering wheel, then the front.
If the wheels are balanced all bushing could be loose and it will still be a smooth "no shake" ride.
Don't forget if brake discs and brake drums are out of balance no amount of tire balancing will correct a shake.
Also there is static and dynamic wheel balancing machines. You always want a motorized "dynamic" wheel balance done.
Back to the mechanic - sounds like either an IAC motor or TPS sensor is the problem, but also could be the throttle cable (sticking leaving the throttle not fully closed).
if the unit is overheating ( your statement mentions burns , breaks etc that indicates that something is drawing excessive current through that unit
a possible fix is to use a rely in that circuit if you cannot find the reason for the excessive current draw
failing ac clutch coil would be a good place to start looking
I think i know the issue. I have had it happen to me it is your security system failing. Your car is on the list year make and model... I found a module that you can install yourself and it will bypass it allowing your car to start everytime.. Check it out and ask questions they are very helpful. Also for some reason if it does not work they will refund you %100 of your money.. this literally saved my car. Hope it helps

When you turn the key to the start position does the starter spin the engine ? The engine cranks no start ! Or nothing happens when you the key to start position ? no crank no start ? Is the anti-theft light lit on the instrument cluster (SECURITY) ? If the starter spins the engine does spin slow or normally ? Is there spark , fuel pressure ? Testing these thing's would be the place to start if the engine spins ! Videos on youtube showing how !
I have the exact same car and had that exact problem!!!! Its the security system failing. I took it in and they wanted a ridicules amount of money to fix it. I did a ton of research and found a module that you can install yourself and it will bypass it and let the car start every time. I did mine 5 years ago and i havent had a problem since. Check it out they have great customer service and if for some reason it doesnt work they refund you 100% i hope this helps you out i know how frustrating it is

Dome light runs off the interior fuse. Dash, radio and others also. If the work, could be a bad bulb, switch or wire. Mirrors power comes from the master switch. Could be the mirror switch or mirror motors. If both quit working at the same time, look to the switch. If they died separately, After time. Replace the mirror assembly if you want them to work. They can be adjusted by hand.Push on the mirror.
