The only way to know if a vehicle's air condition is properly charged is to use refrigerant gauges to determine the high side and low side pressure while the system is running. Without gauges, there are a few things you can check:

1. With ambient temperature over 85 degrees Fahrenheit, when you first start the engine for the day, the compressor should engage and stay engaged. If it cycles off and on for more than one minute, or if the compressor fails to engage at all, there is a likelihood that the refrigerant charge is low. (If ambient temperature is under 85 degrees Fahrenheit, a small amount of cycling is normal, but the compressor should remain engaged for a longer time than it is disengaged);
2. If the compressor is not engaging at all, momentarily place a wire jumper across the two pins of the refrigerant pressure switch connector with the engine running and the system on. The compressor should engage. If it does not, the system is not working properly. If it does, there is likely insufficient refrigerant in the system.

Last time I experienced this kind of complaint from a customer it turned out to be the anti-theft, suddenly for no logical or reasonable cause it registered the car was being stolen and shut down. Can I conclude that the fuel pressure and fuel pump,and all the TYPICAL (if there is such a thing anymore) problems have been looked at.If so I would give GM a call and ask them if they have had any issues with this kind of problem on this kind of car.I think this will mean a trip to a dealership to have the car scanned while you drive it to see what is happening. good luck

Pop the back seat cushion out to gain access to the trunk and pull the emergency trunk release handle. The handle was designed to allow escape from your trunk in case of kidnapping, etc.

Most likely in power distribution box under hood. Look inside top of cover to find fuel pump relay

When this happened to me I needed to buy the whole turn signal/wiper assembly. It was fairly easy to install. But that was last option, more information would be needed to accurately determine the cause of your problem.

It would be helpful to have a bit more information. What exactly leads you to believe that there is an short in the instrument panel. If it is an electrical short, it can be extremely difficult to track it down.

If your battery light is coming on, and shutting the car off when it does, it might be time for a new battery - when was the last time you had it replaced? Typically the ABS light and battery light are not related - you might have two separate issues with the vehicle. If your ABS light is on it means that your ABS won't engage when it's supposed to - you should have your whole ABS system checked, often it's something as simple as a sensor that's malfunctioning.

-Sounds like the alternator no produce enough power. -Start the car and let it runs for 10 minutes to temperature then check voltage at battery. You should get 14.5 volt or +/-. It less then 13 volts. the problem is the alternator. Replace it or rebuild. Good Luck. Mai
