Battery dead, boot will not open nor key turn in
Hi
If you look at your remote key fob you will see a small metal "silver part" this should pull out of your keyfob, this is an override key, if you look on the car door where the handle is you will see a thin slot to put this in, lock then unlock the car, this will disable the dead locks and you will be able to open the boot.
This may sound a bit crazy if you have not noticed the silver part on the keyfob before, so do get back to me if you are unsure what I mean and I can send you a picture, if the metal override key is missing then you have trouble getting in the boot.
Hope this helps, like I said do get back to me if you are unsure.
Regards
Dan

The dashboard in my 2004 e500 says vist workshop!
That is the same as a Check Engine Light. You are either over due for an Oil and Air Filter change or a sensor is going bad. If your in the United states go to one of the Major Auto Parts stores and ask them to connect their code reader to the vehicle and identify the fault code and that will tell you what is wrong.

Where is the oil stick
There is none unless you want to get one from the dealer, but you don't have to. When you're changing your oil, you have to level your car then go inside your car and go to your dash board and go through your options. It will tell you your level how much oil you have.

2004 mercedes e500
this reading on dash means to say too low is your fuel is too low that reads by the ecu, this reading is came from the fuel level sensor, if your fuel tank is full but always show this reading, its better to change your fuel level sensor, when the sensor cant read accurately and if reading is to low while engine is full fuel, the engine wil stop because the ecm receive that there is no fuel or too low

Where is the engine oil dipstick on a 2004 E240
These cars don't have a dipstick (really!). Using the steering wheel
controls you can get to a page on the computer output (middle of
speedo)
that will give you an indication of oil level. Sorry I don't recall
exactly which page it is, but the manual explains - I'm sure you can
google it. If you do a normal journey (so the engine is up to temp) and
then park on a level surface and wait a few minutes you get the true
reading from this function. If you ask me it's all too clever for it's
own good...

Sounds like a fuse problem. Have you checked the fuse? Look in your owners manual for the specific fuse(s) that relate to the lighters/sockets. If you cannot tell if the fuse is blown by looking at it, use a voltmeter set to continuity. Hope this helps

2004 E500 no heat, blower works great but only
more than likely the baffle control that changes position to allow the heat to be allowed into the car.. this is a typical problem on the benzes, you need to remove the cover to the right of the accelerator petal that covers the components, on the dash where to ac button says auto, you can roll the outer ring to manually change where the air comes out see if this is moving and you should have a second one for the baffle that opens and closes the door to allow heat to enter, change the temperature up and down and see if there is movement. If there is it could be your thermostat has stuck in the open position not allowing your car to heat up properly. If your water pump is bad you will see antifreeze on the ground coming out of the weep hole that is on the pump.

How to change oil in 2004 mercedes e500 sedan
this is a bit of a loaded question while draining the oil and replacing the filter (up front, top right of engine) it requires 8.5 quarts Mobile 1 0-20 oil, to get a read on the level there is no dip stick, you have to after putting in 6 quarts, start your car, then turn it off, put your key in the accessory position scroll through your screen on the dash to find oil level, it will tell you to wait for about 15 minutes until obtains the proper level reading then it will tell you how much more oil to add.
and it will take another 15 to get verification of the proper level obtained.
