check ur alternator

If lights will not shut off ,suspect short in the electical circuit

you remove steering wheel, remove turn signal unit and then you can remove the cylinder with a torx head but and you dont need to have a key.

check for a disconnected vacuum hose.. Ive done that a few times.

auto parts store sometimes has it on there computer they will print it out for you or you maybe able to view one of there books to write it down

turn the idle screw on the carburettor up till it idles correctly or try clean the idle jet

What size engine is it?

had the same problem - the daytime running lights would not shut off. Since I could not find the relay (I later found several on the back side of the fuse box) I put a relay powered by the parking lights in line with the headlights.

Check the trigger/exciter wire on the back of the alternator to see if it's broken.

This one should be close.

I think you mean the column shift lever which is replaced by tapping out the pivot pin from under the base of the shifter. It is a chrome colored pin and will only come out if you tap it LIGHTLY from the bottom.

have you tried new bulbs? if so then i suspect there is a "dry" (cracked) solder joint to the circuit

Thinking back to those days. Points and capacitor. I would replace the capacitor. Check the points and if they are pitted then definetly a bad capacitor. Is that fuel line near the exhaust causing hot gasoline and vapor lock?
