THE ONLY RESOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM IS TO REPLACE THE KEY CYLINDER WITH A NEW ONE. LOCAL REPAIR GUY IS CORRECT. HOPE THIS HELPS. THANKS FOR AN HONEST RATING AND FOR USING FIX-YA. BEST OF LUCK. ANY MORE QUESTIONS, PLEASE ASK AWAY.

Cooling fan dosent come on when temperture

You seem to have a bad cooling fan switch...it's connected to the side if the engine and when it gets too hot it turns on your cooling fans. The switch doesn't cost that much, $10 to $15 and takes all of about 15 minutes to replace.

O2 sensor

O2 sensors are located on the exhaust system. Sometimes on the exhaust manifold, exhaust pipe, before and/or after the catalytic converter. You can change it yourself, but I recommend buying a specialty socket to do it. They are available at any auto parts store for 10-20 dollars. Now then are you sure you need to replace a O2 sensor, is it throwing a O2 code or unsure of problem. Also if it is throwing an O2 code dosen't necessarily mean the sensor is bad. It just means there is an issue with that circuit. And then the circuit could be fine but an engine problem could cause the computer to throw an O2 code (running rich/lean, etc.).

Grand am smells like gas inside the car

I would definatly recheck the regulator to make certain you do not have any leaks.
But to be clear, you are smelling gas and not exhaust?
Also, is you cowl seal in good shape, not missing or damaged in any way?
Let me know.

Bonnevile 96 check engine light stays on.

O2 light often indicates a fuel / air mixture problem elsewhere in the system not a failure of the sensor. This can be caused by a vacuum leak, worn injectors or other issues. The light was off because likely the codes were cleared by the shop after the work was done. It came back on again because the actual problem was not corrected!

Motor stop running

Try driving it in drive as opposed to overdrive, we had the same problem and our mechanic told us it was the fault of a computer chip, the chip in older Bonevilles that cause this problem are located in your transmission and will cost more than it is worth to replace, so I suggest leaving off with putting it in overdrive.

Power windows stick

More then likely there is a moving part that isn't moving so freely anymore, and that can happen for many reasons..anything from a very small pebble getting caught somewhere and putting pressure on the window rail alignment too the windows motor just being very-very tired.

Unless you're familiar with being inside the door panel and power window assemblies, I would suugest that you find a good body shop....by good I don't mean the most expensive, there are shops that are just getting started that are far superior to the more estabished shops in labor knowledge.

I wish I could tell you something more to the point, but as with everything else, unless the car is right here, it's very hard to tell you exactly what's wrong, let alone how to fix it.

At most, unless it's the motor that needs replacing, something like this shouldn't take more then an hour of time, remember, always get an estimate before okaying any work, and get the estimate in writing.

Sorry I couldn't help you anymore then this
