Do i need to prime the oil pump on my magnum
I am supposing you have overhauled the engine.
If so, yes, it is quite common to prime the oil pump.
How a lot of people do it is to fill it with STP, which will last long enough upon starting the engine to prevent bearing failure from lack of start-up oil.
Mechanics also coat all bearing surfaces of all bearings with STP, for the same reason.
If it has already given you a knocking sound when you cranked it, you may have already damaged the bearings.
God bless your efforts.
How do I get ABS and Bas light of my dash board?
The computer needs to be reset with a scanner from a auto tech. Do you know if any of the abs sensors were damaged or disturbed? If all OK there, just clear codes. You should be OK. Good Luck Fran M
05 Dodge Magnum went from 60 - 0mph in 0.0 seconds flat!!!
Sounds like you need a new key to me. When they start and die like that, the security system is not seeing a good key. This has to be done at a Dodge or Chrysler dealership. They can cut a new key and fob combo their as well as program them with their scan tool. It will cost about $200.00 to do this. The two cranks to start is a weak fuel pressure regulator. Probably located on the the fuel pump. May be serviced seperate now from the fuel pump assembly. Ask the dealer they will know.
I have a 05 dodge magnum sxt, and for some reason
Hi There ,
My name is Mike. I'm here to help you sort this out. You are my eyes and ears in diagnosing the problem. So I'll ask some questions and you give me as much detail as you can. OK?
Well first off, there are differ types of ticking. It's the when and where I'd need to know.
Does it occur when you try to start? A rapid clicking? A single Click?
Does it happen while the engine is running? Does the speed of the clicking increase and decrease with the engine RPM's.
Standing by...
Mike
