I can start it but
If you have the 4.3 engine. First check the distributor gear. It is probably worn. I have fixed plenty of problems like yours by replacing this gear. Let me know there are other things that can cause this problem. But this seems to be the most common. Randy
Have a 2005 gmc jimmy,
Sounds like the brake linings are worn to the metal. I would take the truck to a service center for an estimate. Ask them to inspect the rear brakes and pull the drums off.
My 94 gmc jimmy is having a little problem that
The idle could be a few things dirty air filter or fuel filter i would check these first you don't mention any engine codes so its likely a minor problem . The antifreeze leaking inside is comeing from the heater code eighter you should check the heater hoses that connect to the core to make sure its not leaking at the nipple but you have a 94 so it may be the core it self has a hole rotted in it or poped a solider joint. How dose the heat work in the vehicle is it ok or blowing cool or cold air . this will tell you a lot because clogged heater cores tend to rot out where if you have good heat then it maybe a minor leak at the hoses good luck with it
I have a 1994 GMC Jimmy. When it rains, I am
Try changing the spark plug wires. With age they tend to build up too much resistance & the spark at the plugs become weak. If the spark plugs haven't been changed, have this done because with every 1000 miles the gap widens 1/ thousandth of an inch altering engine timing & preformance. Old spark plugs make for bad starting. As far as the leak, do you have any rusting around the front window frame. If yes, have it repaired by removing the window & accessing the damage. Often the window seal is worn with age & the like. You could have someone with a garden hose pour water on the car til the leak is recognised by looking under the dash. It may also be coming from a rusted floor board. Check under the Jimmy to see if there are any holes obvious. Hope this helps. Good luck!

From your description of the problem, I would suggest you check and make sure the ground to your fuel tank and fuel assembly is clean and tight, and no wires are broken. It sounds like you have a bad (loose) ground, which would cause both the fuel gauge to jump around, and the fuel pump to quit unexpectedly, like on a hard corner. Dropping the truck could jiggle the loose connection so that it worked, again. Before spending the $600, make sure your ground is good. If the bad ground is inside the unit, then you will have to get it replaced, but make sure it's not just a loose wire, first.
Instructions on how to replace an odometer cable
There is no cable,it is all electric. If your speedometer works but no odometer then you have a problem in the intrument cluster. If neither works then you have a vehilcle speed sensor problem which is in the tail housing of the transfer case.
I put a fuel pump
It sounds like the Idle Air Control Valve is not working right. It could be from carbon buildup on the pintle and spring. Removing and cleaning with spray carb cleaner may help. Don't get the cleaner on the electrical parts. Personally, I would go ahead and replace it with a new one. After replacement, you may want to have the computer scanned for codes and have the codes cleared. The computer will have to relearn the idle characteristics after installing the new IAC, so the idling may be erratic for a while.
When i push the 4hi
my jimmy also did this i disconnected positive battery terminal for about 20 seconds and this fixed mine.
