How do I replace the num 3 spark plug on 98 gmc jimmy

Use a socket 5/8 with swivel extension through wheel well. This is the best way to get to all the plugs via wheel well. You don't have to touch the steering shaft at all. I have done a tune up on mine more times than I can remember

My 98 jimmy is not starting up . Engine turns but

Pretty sure I know what is causing this. common issue in GM's. Your security system failed .this has happened to me before I found a module that can bypass it and your car will run again and its very inexpensive and you can do it yourself. check it out see if you think its it. your car make and model are on the list for this issue.

Need to replace my lock cylinder on my 1998 GMC Jimmy. I have been told how to do it, and it sounds easy.....IF you can turn the key to the run position. Mine will not turn so I need to know how to

If the lock tumbler pins are jamming the lock, you can try tapping on the lock while you twist it. If that does not work, you can perform other remedies when you get the lock exposed. You need to remove the whole thing and that is the hardest part. Once it is out of the column you can use gravity and tapping to see if the pins will move. IF you cannot get past the jammed cylinder, you can take it to a lock smith.

I have a 1998 GMC Jimmy, 6 banger, automatic. Getting trouble code P0452. What do I do? Truck seems to drive fine but I am worried it will not pass the emissions test with this code. Help.....pleas

Your not going to inspection obviously, without checking for OBD Codes & making sure all Emission Monitors run, or you just waste your time as usual, sitting in line to fail TYPE: OBD PO452 to see your codes Going to have to component test the Evap System & find the problem & resolve

1998 gmc jimmy 6cylinder 4.3 4x4 no fuel and

If you changed your plugs, etc. and know that you are getting a good spark then it's really only 2 other things to check. The compression in that cylinder and the fuel. Check fuel pressure with gauge hooked up to Schrader valve on fuel line next to your distributor ( it has a black threaded cap on it). If pressure is good then you have either a dirty or clogged fuel injector or the injector quit working. Let me know what you find. Anytime you get a misfire in a particular cylinder, you should always check for spark, fuel and compression.

What are the signs that my alternator is not working correctly

When sat in the car and it is running , face the front up to a garage door or wall with the main beam on. Put your foot onto the accelerator pedal with the car in Neutral . You will see the Headlamps go much brighter if the alternator is OK . If it is faulty they will stay quite dim.

I have a 1998 gmc jimmy 4.3 6cylinder 4x4 I blew

What I've seen done to test an injector is to pull it, and swap it for another cylinder. If the miss moves, then the injector is bad. If the miss stays on #5, then the problem isn't the injector.

My 98;jimmy will not start engine turns but will

check for spark at the plugs then check for fuel. if one of these are missing the car won`t start. common problem on some of these was the ignition module in the distributor and sometimes the pickup coil wires would break. another thing to check is the distributor cap and rotor for damage like a cracked cap or burnt through rotor. fuel pump were also common.
