2000 GMC Sonoma surges and dies
First the intake manifold should never leak start here. If the intake manifold leaks the air mix can not stabilize causing rich then lean condition.making your 02 sensors act up. The car will always search or purge in RPM range for its ECM required range. Fix the Leak first. get back to me.
2000 GMC Sonoma 4.3l V6 timing chain replacement
Sounds to me someone wants to make a couple of bucks. Does the truck still run? The timming chain is going to have play in it, even with only a few miles on it THATS JUST THE NATURE OF THE BEAST, the chanses of the timming chain going out is remote, I've owned a few 4.3's with well over 100.000 mi. and never had to chg. a timming chain, not to say it can't happend just saying its very remote.
Hello i have a 2000
Its the 8TH digit on the VIN number. Its on a plate under you windshield in front of the driver. Look at it from outside the truck. You would think the PARTS guy would tell you that. Are you SURE it need injectors? very unusual.
HAVE A 2000 SONOMA 4CYL.
The labor guide gives 1.5 to 2 hours to perform this task.. There are several items to inspect but the only major item to replace is spark plugs.. These can range between 3 and 8 dollars each depending on the plug. So lets go with $8 a plug and thats 32 dollars. Then you have a couple of hours labor. I am not sure where you are located so the labor rates could vary between 50-100 per hour. If you were at my shop you would be looking at around 175. Any additional parts will naturally add to this cost.. Hope this helps..
Changed fuel pump, truck will
Hello...
The Sonoma has a Fuel Pump relay controled by the ECM "B" fuse and the ECM/PCM itself.
The relay is in the underhood relay box. 30 will be hot all the time 85 is your key. It will become hot for 3 seconds when the key is initially turned on. It will stay alive when the key is in the run or on position B if the ECM/PCM is working correctly.
If everything there is okay then its a ground problem at G102 or G402 or Wiring issue to the pump...
Good Luck
2000 GMC, 80200 miles, SLS;
The 4.3L is not an interference fit engine so a timing CHAIN failure will not
result in additional damage. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it until over
100k. Replace the water pump when it fails. Usually the seals will start to leak and coolant will be seep from the "weep hole"
I hope this answers your question.
