No heat in my 2000 GMC Sonoma w/AC. Engine warms
that year / series of GM sonoma and s-10 where famous for having clogged heater cores - is temp of hoses going in and out the same ? if not try to flush out ther core, if they are, ck to see if the hot water valve is woking, and finally operation of the doors inside the heater box itself

Just over half is usually when the fans switch on to cool so this should be correct, when cool check water (low oil will not affect tick over temp) , then moniter it if no water loss then dont worry.

Usually the whole hvac box has to come out of the vehicle to replace the heater core. Once the box is out it can be opened and the heater core removed. Be careful with all the vent doors and actuators, make note of how everything came apart. The last thing you want to do is have to remove the dash and box because something wasn't on just right. sound like the O2 sensor or PCV... take the car to autozone and they will use the ODB reader on it for free.I suspect one or the other sensor. How many miles do you have on it?

its 150.00 dollers at the deler or cheper at auto zone the 3rd door panal comes off and the bolts that holds it in is in there
I would like to replace the brakes on my GMC
If you are mechanically inclined then you should be able to handle it. But if this is the first one you've ever attempted you will need a manual. It will show the tips and tricks to getting it right the first time. As for the tools, you don't need a master set but you do need a standard set of some type. Similar to a 300 piece craftsman set. If you don't have the tools it would be less costly to take it somewhere.
