Ka24de bogs at 3000 rpms and wont go any higher
why did you change mass air flow sensor ? do you have coil packs, any codes stored in ECM ? something is telling it to go full lean ! ? another sensor, OXYGEN SENSOR, MAP SENSOR ? aftermarket MAF sensors are garbage, you might need a stock , OEM , MAF !!!!!!!!! I would , my 87 buick gn boged when I replaced my MAF , I got a new OEM , STOCK , MAF, exact replacement, it ran wonderful !!!! again !
My car wont startll
No start problem.This is many a times caused by weak battery or faulty battery, or can be possible that battery to starter connection is loose or faulty starter itself.First the battery to start and both battery and starter voltage needs to be checked and confirmed.If that is checked ok, then other possibilities like faulty spark plugs,m faulty fuel pump etc etc needs to be checked. Car is running hot after thermostat replacement;
If the car is still running hot after replacing the thermostat, then there are a few issues that you need to check. Is all the air bled out of the cooling system? Do you have a leak somewhere? Is the top hose and bottom hose both getting hot? Is the temp sensor working correctly (meaning the sensor says that your car is in the red, but really your car is not overheating at all). Is the cooling fan turning on? It has to be one of those that is causing the issue with the car overheating. Most of the time, its due to not bleeding the air out of the system, or the water pump not functioning correctly.

Have the fuel filter first checked out.
If this happens also in idle check for loose vacuum hoses or loose wiring for the sensors. The idle air control valve may also be dirty. Have this cleaned out first. A spray of carb cleaner in the intake may help. It could clear out dirt in the MAF sensor.
Other than that have the injector and the fuel pump tested for its pressure.

well if you have a Ka you should know it has three belts. Alternator belt closest to the engine, then power steering/ ac belt second and finally you have you clutch fan belt

The 240sx auto transmission will not shift from 1st to 2nd until going about 25 mph with gentle throttle (35mph with full throttle). I do not recall what engine RPM this corresponds to, but i know it always seemed high.
As for the hard shift two second, there is rectangular module that is inside the driver side fender next to the ignition coil that is sometimes unplugged to get a more "sporty" feel out of the automatic transmission. Check that plug and if it is unplugged, plug it back in.

you'll most likely need to replace the timing belt and tensioner if it's jumping time, note;;if it's jumping time, does it keep starting? are you sure it's the time thats jumping or is that a guess?most 240's don't just restart after jumping time, they will not restart, unless you adjust the distributor. are you moving the distributor? to make it restart? if the car is just 'jumping' there may be another problem. such as a bad spark plug wire, or a bad plug. also could be a clogged fuel injector. if the car runs at idle byitself, try running fuel injector cleaner through it from the gas tank[recomennd lucas fuel injector cleaner] if not repaired then check for bad spark plug wire, if not that check plugs for a bad spark plug.hope this helps!!
