My windows will not roll up under there own power
A couple of things you can do, first, take the switch panel right out of the door, should just pop up, or a couple screws, I can't remember, get the thing disconnected at the wire clips there, you have a couple wires coming in and about 10 going out, now, check out the panel itself, Is it corroded? Green? Rusty, any sign of water damage? You can clean this up, clean up the contacts, get it running again, or you can buy a new or used one on ebay. This is hopefully the culprit. Next, from those wires you have dangling out of the door panel, take a jumper, stereo wire or lamp cord, find the hot wire and the ground, a meter will do this for you or a voltage tester, or a light bulb. Run the hot wire into the socket with all the wires going to the motors in it, find the one that runs the driver's window, see if you can get it going. Just to see if the motors are good. If the motors are shot, you need to replace those, if not, if the motors are good and the window still won't work, then you need to replace the window regulator, it is a cable pulley system that gives out to age and can't be fixed, has to be replaced. It is fairly easy to do, but you have to take the door panel off, it has a couple screws holding it on and a bunch of plugs that grab the door, and then it has a plastic wind barrier, try not to rip the snot out of it, you need it, take off your watch, that black stuff is stickier than snotballs, about 8 or 12 more bolts, remove the old regulator unit, get the new one in there, bolt the glass to it, bolt the motor back on, and then put it all back together, should be all set. You can pay somebody $250 to do it, but like I said, It can be done. All the parts are available on ebay. I fixed all mine, all the parts came from ebay, and now I have so many motors and actuators, I'll never have to buy another one. don't have to, all the windows work. Hope this helps.
