no its is completly an electrical device.the vacum hose you see is probably the fuel tank vent valve for the fuel vapor system

try starter fluid in the air intake if engine fires it is probably either the fuel pump relay or the fuel pump itself.

the OD light is flashing to let u know a fault has occurred in the transmission electronic controls or that it is slipping plus other issues, go to Kragen or Autozone and ask them to run a trouble code test, it is free, post the code back here for me to look at.

Hi Shane,On the long run it will be more cost effective to replace the box. I suggest to take the box to a gearbox specialist and swap it out with a rebuild with an garentee. This is cheaper than fixing the problem on the current box and it has a warentee.

Check fuse.

get a12 volt test light (autozone or any part store) . disconnect negative battery. connect light between negative terrminal of batteryand negitive cable if light lights something is useing battery power remove bulbs lighting hood and trunk until test light does not light disconect anything electrical until the test light goes out. if you disconnect alternater and it goes out replace alternator. if this was helpful please leave good feed back
