Hi. These SUVs are known to have a bushing failure that affects the shift cable. is the cable loose and sloppy? if so please inspect the end of the shift cable under the dashboard. If your issue is different and you need to adjust (recenter) the shift selections. The adjustment is a single 10mm bolt at the end of the cable, at the transmission. Easy. Loosen the bolt and slide the cable until the tension is neutral, tighten and test.

I would say that a premature bearing failure would be caused by a defective (cheap?) bearing, or improper installation. The axle nut is what clamps the bearing and sets the bearing preload. If the nut is under-torqued, the best bearings in the world will fail very quickly. The 2002 bearing is a Gen1 style cartridge bearing. It has to be pressed into the knuckle, and then the hub gets pressed into the bearing. It the bearing isn't properly support during the press operation, and is pressed across the balls, the balls or races will get damaged... bearing is done for.

Did you replace the spark plugs? Did you do a tune up? The gas may have condensation water if you didn't keep the tank full in cold weather. Try this and possibly add a cleaning agent for the clogged lines.

The switch is not working from defroster to front vents could be the vacuum problem or electrical.

It could be the TPS or Throttle Position Sensor. The TPS let's the computer know the position of the butterfly plate in the throttle body, the computer then adjusts the fuel delivery to match for proper fuel air mixture. These do wear out over time and can cause the problem you describe. Here is a link to a video on how to replace it. The valve your looking at is by the gas pedal that is the actuator it applies and releases the cruise control there's another unit under the hood that is the module it has a cable coming out of it on the end it maybe frozen from ice accumulated on it

Either your throttle cable or throttle plate is sticking. This most likely do to moisture on the cable or in the mechanism freezing do to the cold.
