350 Chevy knock might be a blown rod or a lifter stuck
Knocks in the engine can be defined by the frequency that it happens . If it is a cam follower it would be a constant knock and there would be more than one as if the cam follower or cam lobes are failing . A heavy knock can be a big end or a main bearing failing. Remove the plug wire and if it is a big end the sound will be a lot less as there is no combustion pressure pushing down on the crank pin. When you have got the rod you think it is then remove the plug as well and there will be virtually no noise when running. If the oil pressure is good at idle then the noise may be a broken ring or cracked piston. All produce a knock in an engine A stuck lifter should be holding open a valve so you will have a miss as well as the knock.
HOW TO REMOVE DASH OUT OF 85 JIMMY
This is a very detailed process as the removal of an entire dash in any car would be. I suggest you go to your nearest auto zone, oriely or other auto parts store and purchases a chiltons repair manual. They are normally under $25.00 and with all that they cover ( dash removal as well ) they are worth their weight in gold. The exploded pics and step by step procedures is an aid that you will for sure need to have in front of you for this kind of procedure.
What is fault code 42 and 44
Is that the code you got by using a scan tool at the data link plug ? Did you use a jumper wire at the data plug and count the service engine light flashes to get those values ? If so and I'm guessing since your info on how and where you came up with those numbers were not included but sounds like 02 sensor / EGR or catalytic converter codes.
How to change the ignition lock cylinder on a 1985 s15 gmc jimmy
1st you will need two tools, you can get them from any auto parts store like NAPA. See picture at end of the GM steering lock ring depresser, a must have..INSTRUCTIONS:Remove steering wheel. Underneath is the turn signal switch. There is a ring around the steering shaft holding the steering wheel lock plate down. Push down on the lock plate and remove the ring and the lock plate. Next is the turn signal switch. 3 screws holding it down one on the right side above the key and 2 on the left. Probably have to move the turn signal switch left and right to get them. the arm is held on with one screw. Remove the hazard button, one screw in the end of it. There should be enough slack in the turn signal wires to get it over the steering shaft. On the top side at the bottom of the ignition switch there should be a screw. Remove screw and the ignition switch will just pull out. Reverse to install.
